I didn’t like that the bathroom wasn’t clean and there was water damage on the ceiling by the front entry of my room.

I liked that it was right by various restaurants, the movies, less than 10 minutes from Walmart, Dollar Tree, and University of Alabama.

The interior was dated with obvious unaddressed water damage and other deferred maintenance. The "laundry" area was essentially outdoors- or in the stairwell.

It was a good value. I didn't feel unsafe. The bedding was nice. It had a mini fridge and microwave. It was close to food and other conveniences. The breakfast was decent. Hot food and low carb options.

Breakfast was good. Beds comfortable. We want to give a shout out to Bessie Small(Front desk)she handled our problem immediately with a smile. We also had an opportunity to enjoy a conversation with her at a later time - she is a joy. Hope to see her again on our return trip. Thank you, Bessie!!!

The check-out time was 11am. At around 9:20am, Housekeeping started yelling to each other, right outside my room, about how they were waiting for me to leave so that they could clean up and clock out. I got up and left before I had planned because it made me feel unwelcome. I also couldn’t go back to sleep because they kept carrying on a loud conversation with each other. One was upstairs cleaning while the other was in the room next to mine cleaning, so it required yelling. Other than that, my stay was really nice.

Location and comfort were just what I needed. Nice price for what I was given. Very happy.

The door would not lock from the outside, i. e., I didn't need my card. It could be pushed open without the mag key card.

The bed was very comfortable. I had slept on 10 different beds in the past three weeks and this bed was the most comfortable of all. I would like to have one like it at home. I stayed at this motel on my way north several weeks ago and liked the experience.

When I opened the refrigerator, it immediately filled the room with a horrible odor. It was empty and either didn't work or was not on. There was nothing in it, and it was unusable.

This is my first time trying a motel instead of a hotel, so I'm not sure what to expect. But if I judge by an absolute standard by only the cost and without lowering my expectations, then I do have complaints: (1) Dirty. The building (outside of the rooms) needs some cleaning, really. I don't understand why it's so dirty and smells like garbage around the building when you can easily pay someone to just clean it up. (2) Pest. Not really anyone's fault, I understand this happens when your door immediately faces outdoors. But I did manage to kill 1 small roach, 2 fruit flies, and 1 normal fly during my 1-night stay. (3) Noise. The police/fire siren woke me up several times after midnight - I was literally wondering if I was sleeping outside under a bridge or something. I understand it is how it is, but still, it was very noisy. (4) communication. I sent them a note through booking.com trying to ask about something and did not get a rely ever. Maybe they have no one operating the internet system. (5) Towels. We have 2 people, and were greeted by 1 towel, and the towel was... quite seasoned.

This is perhaps the cheapest option around. Room has all the essentials, and some extra (microwave and fridge), shower water was in full power, and parking was not an issue.
