Annoyed that we couldn't park on site after many trips around and around. Also one of my daughters was sent to the other side of the hotel until a closer room was requested.

The breakfast was first class..very good. Swimming pool good also amusement and ten pin bowling.

The decor in the room appeared dated, apart from the bathroom where refurbishment had took place New modern wall tiles in bathroom. There was a plug socket on the middle of the wall, so this could not be used as I didn't have a extension lead, mybe move the plug socket down to a location in the room more easily accessible. Bedroom light could be less bright when turning it on, before sleep.

I liked the shower in the room had been refurbished, I liked that the room had many plug sockets. I got a good WiFi connection so I could do work tasks, on both my mobile phone and tablet, the WiFi connection was able to handle multi connections, despite the Derwent hotel not being able to handle multi connections, because of low bandwidth.

Unfortunately the LIFT was out of action, Both my wife and I are partially disabled and found it Very very difficult ascend two floors👎 Decor of hotel was slightly tired. Beds were very firm

Room 101 - not a nice view - very noisy with staff back & forth with cages on wheels- noisy fans - weird smells occasionally! Mattresses very lumpy too.

3rd year here as loved before - always had great stay & couldn’t fault anything at all previously Staff very helpful especially Clare on Reception & Maddie in the dining room so polite & lovely too

Cleanliness wasn’t the best, rooms weren’t cleaned properly and up to standards. Unfortunately room wasn’t emptied from previous guests and we had found a sex toy on the floor, told the receptionist and they had apologised but not much care from them or compensation. Beds were solid and complained to staff which offered a mattress topper, we had to go out and buy more pillows as pillows were very poor quality. This hotel has a couple of car parks which we’re all full, receptionist told us to park on a different site but once

Liked the swimming pool even though was quite a walk from the room, as with disabled guest. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

The outside of property is showing significant signs of wear and tear plus some public areas have not had recent investment, although I understand the potential issues of a venue so large.

Having to pay £10 a day to park the car on top of the hotel bill. The pool was freezing cold, and the indoor pool was cold, so much so that we never used the pool's. The hotel having an indoor and outdoor pool was the first main reason I booked. Food and drink were expensive. Continental breakfast? Not realy. Fruit and cereal are not Continental. We had breakfast 3 out of the 6 days I had paid.

Location was excellent. Entertainment was excellent. Facilities were ok But expensive.

The day before we arrived the hotel messaged me saying that we would be charged for parking - not good. On arrival the receptionist said that if we had booked direct with the hotel then the parking would have been free. This was a surprise which Booking.com failed to inform me off. Also, messaging me the day before didn't give me the opportunity to cancel and rebook. Having also booked a room for my son and his family the additional cost was going to be £33 approx. I had a polite conversation with the manager (Roger - a nice man) and he agreed to refund the parking fee. We don't usually travel during the school holidays so I was very surprised at how expensive the hotel was.

The staff, the room, the breakfast, the facilities and the entertainment were all very good. We travelled to be with family and friends, including grandchildren, so this wasn't our normal holiday, which is usually adults only. The hotel catered very well for the children which was our main goal. The location to Torquay sea front was good.

We went in two cars, and on arrival we were charged £70 for each car for parking. After paying Nearly £2000 for the weeks stay I think this is disgraceful!!

Staff weren’t very friendly. Particularly in the Aztec Bistro. Lifeguards made us feel uncomfortably when we were in the outside pool area as it seemed they were talking about us. Overall hotel was very outdated. Food in the Aztec Bistro was horrible. Clearly made and then microwaved - even as far as ham and cheese panini!

The location was perfect. So close to the train station, the town centre and the sea! The facilities went beyond my expectations, with access to the spa facilities, entertainment, restaurants arcade etc. The value for money was great! The bedroom was clean and such a good size!

Leisure facilities are off-site a short walk away, charge extra for the gym. Food was good but the dining room is more of a mess hall than a nice restaurant. A ridiculous £10 per night parking fee unless you book with the hotel direct was a surprise. Shower was more of a slow trickle than a flow

Room was rather shabby apart from bathroom.When we arrived, virtually nowhere to park on entire campus. Eventually able to move from awful space to location behind Toorak. At breakfast had been assigned to a table with large bowls group but staff did sort it
