A charming hotel, with lovely rooms, beds, and bathrooms. Very nciely decorated. The food was also delicous, and the staff were very friendly.

Approach on foot - very busy road to cross at peak times. Good shower but shower curtain throw back to the last century- plenty of space for a glass screen.

Excellent breakfast, and evening meal. Well equipped and spacious room. Helpful and pleasant staff.

Risotto was dry

The small details made this place all the more lovely. The rooms are a good standard and well decorated and upkept, very cosy and warm. A good size too. Bathrooms are fresh and modern. But the details were exceptional for the pub/inn accommodation this host offers .. I was offered fresh milk to take to my room upon check-in and given it in a small thermos. I was actually shown to my room.. There was a lovely tea and coffee selection, bottled water, biscotti x 4, I felt like nothing was held back, even a calming scented spray for the pillows! The bed was very comfy and pillows to boot. Bar was very comfortable for a solo female and my dog, staff were amazingly helpful and polite. Food a bit hit and miss, had a wonderful brocoli, bean and grain salad with mint and feta, fresh and lively. Unfortunately I could not say the same for the risotto, very disappointed at its dry, cloying state. Breakfast was good quality but I wish chefs would not throw most items in the fryer, it's not a good cheat. The sour dough bread was gorgeous and so was the local farm butter. I would stay again for sure and pick from the menu more carefully

Evening meal in the pub proved to be excellent with a good choice of food from their menu. Staff and Kirstie ( Manager) were very good, polite and helpful. I'm sure if something wasn't right they would sort it !!

Quirky character, clean but maintains old character, bed very comfortable, food divine and good value, and very quick from order too table , loved the retro radio and sugar cubes in a bag in room

Radiator took a while to get up to temperature to get the room warm enough.

Little details - vacuum flasks of milks from the bar for our in-room teas and coffees. Vast improvement on the tiny plastic tubs usually on offer. Very good vegan options on the menu.

A little bit of road noise.

Staff are really professional and friendly. The quality of the food is always to a very high standard. This is somewhere I look for when visiting the area purely due to the high standard.

Nothing. Yes! By the time we sat down for dinner the home made pies had all been eaten. Says more about the pies than the pub!

Super place for a night or two. Located on the Bath Rd from M4 so potentially noisy but our room very well insulated so not an issue. It’s a pub, but individual rooms around the car park. Very well appointed, comfy bed, good bathroom. Kitchen serves pub food, dinner menu usual safe choices, breakfast high point, excellent. Staff friendly and obliging.

There was only one rather hard chair for a double room.. When we mentioned this a tub armchair was quickly provided.

Very pleasant " gastro" pub.Staff were friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and dinner was very good as was the service. . The room was clean and attractive and the bed comfortable Breakfast to10.30 and 11 am checkout was something we liked a lot! Certainly would stay again.
