The room felt a bit worse for wear. There were guests next door to my room having a loud argument.

Breakfast was okay. Location was convenient. Staff were super helpful.

Quiet room was at front and loud music from Bars etc, the room, whilst comfortable and spacious was in need of an update and repaint. Broken glass in bathroom door held together with plastic and painted over, mark over walls and paint work peeling in places. The food was value for money but it was the same things every night, beef stew or beef pie, sliced meet, roast potatoes and veg. We are here three nights - mainly for convenience, and feel that more variety is need different nights. The breakfast was value for money and very good.

The best thing about this hotel was the location, breakfast and staff.

Attitude of staff when we got there at 2 I explained that I had emailed for early check in he was shouting no your not there’s a cleaner phoned in sick, also wanted to take my sweatshirt off as red hot day and he made me go to the ladies toilets to do this in reception and the toilets stank, I had a top under my sweatshirt wasn’t naked I was fuming, the lad that did book us in after 4 was totally different so lovely and friendly,

Bed/Bedding spotless & comfortable. Only thing was the basin taps need sorting, (or pressure )As sometimes tap can be fully on & no water then full pressure & soaks you !!!! Window has gap so can hear everything, pubs opposite a bit noisy till early hrs. But enjoyable stay 😃 as been 3 times before . Will return .

reception staff were very helpful. we arrived at 11 after a 5 hour drive checkin wasn't til 4 bit we needed to sort out car parking fee. Receptionist had a room. ready and alliwed us to checkin them

The decor is poor. Paintwork is appalling. White paint slapped everywhere and not cleaned up when wet. Main areas like reception look better. Lifts smell dreadful. Breakfast was stone cold.

I had a room that was close to the lift, so there was a little noise from the lift during the night, but the price reflected that little issue, and the room was quite elegant and very comfortable.

Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located very close to the station, and the building is imposing. The room had a lot of nice touches such as complimentary coffee and toiletries which I would not normally expect for the price.

The outside and foyer very grand, The room was very plain, nothing like the pics!! I booked a double room and got a twin. The taps in bathroom were back to front, toilet flush was hit & miss. Breakfast was ok.

Walls are extremely thin! You can hear drunk people coming down the corridors singing in the early hours and you can hear people very clearly when talking in the next room at 6am! So if you're after a good night's sleep you deifnately won't be getting it here 😴

Room was what you would expect for 2 people and the price paid, comfy and had the basics needed for one night.

The bed was really bad. It was lumpy, and on an angle, I had to put pillows at the side of me so I didn't fall out of bed.

The historic building is lovely, excellent location, clean rooms, quiet and peaceful. Felt safe considering I was lone female.
