Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only real downside was that the bar area closed at 11 o’clock at night. We had been out for a meal with family on one evening and then out to the theatre on the next and by the time we got back it would’ve been very nice to have had a nightcap, but unfortunately on both evenings the bar had closed at 11.
The staff were lovely they could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and clean reception area was very nice.

FinlandSome of the staff didn’t seem to understand nor speak English very well, and the level of service and hygiene levels varied very much in the lobby restaurant. An example: One evening I ordered a cola for my child, and received a nice glass with it, ice and lemon too. This is what I would expect. Another day came and ordered the same… they would bring in a bottle without a glass. When I requested a glass, I received a really small one and no ice, no lemon. I went to ask for them, so the waiter took the glass, put the ice in the glass, and started to slice a lemon with a seemingly dull knife. The lemon spread out all over his cutting board, so he couldn’t grab the slices with tweezers so he took them to a plate with his bare hands and handed over the plate to me. Maintaining a decent hygiene level would be a prerequisite, and not touching anything with their bare hands that is going to be consumed by a guest.
A nice hotel in a quiet area, still very easily accessible by public transportation. A really short walk to underground stations and even shorter to buses. Good breakfast and the afternoon tea is worth an extra mention!

AustraliaInsufficient lighting in room, making it quite dark.. only had two ceiling lights, and bedside lamps that were not all that effective. There are no lights over the mirror in the bathroom. Loose tiles on the bathroom floor.
Location was great. Very quiet neighbourhood but close to underground station, making the city within easy reach. Staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Food was great. Room was comfortable, and spacious enough considering the amount of luggage we had!

United KingdomRoom was noisy - subway very near and loud every 5 minutes, and could hear the people walking in the room just above us. It didn’t make for a great night sleep. The breakfast buffet was average.

United KingdomThe size of the room is a bit smaller than we expected, and the pictures on the website. There is no rack for putting shampoo and body wash in the shower. We had to leave them on the floor which is not very hygiene. It seems the hotel management lacks of attention to details. The breakfast area is bit small and people can be on top of each other to get food during busy times. Only one lift for the whole hotel, it takes a while for getting up and down. We just used the stairs instead.
Clean room, comfortable bed, great location, helpful staff.

SerbiaThe bathroom door was really hard to open and close, but it would not deter me from staying at this hotel again.
I loved the location and everything around it, Hyde park is just around the corner, as well as the hop on, hop off bus station. There are convenience stores, coffee shops, restaurants all within a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

AustraliaRoom nice and clean, but could be a bit bigger when 2 people travelling with large suitcases. Not a lot of room to leave 2 suitcases open in room.
Modern feel of entry to hotel. Restaurant modern with natural light and buffet breakfast very good. Quiet location in a side street... good that it is close to Kensington Park to walk off jet lag from long flight. Bed and pillows comfy, which is the main thing.

AustraliaRooms could do with a refurb. Water in bathroom was inconsistent. As a solo traveller I did feel overlooked at times in favour of larger groups and sometimes as an inconvenience to some staff. Noise ingress from closing doors was excessive. This was more to do with the function of the door (I.e. they could not be closed quietly).
Property location was well situated. Room was large and clean. On site restaurant had a good menu and was reasonably priced.

United KingdomThe tube train ran until late at night, and rumbled past the hotel, but it was a minor problem and out of control of the hotel.
The location was perfect, lots of shops and restaurants close by and easy to get everywhere. The room was spacious, and clean. We were given clean towels each day. The breakfast was really great - loads of choice and plenty of food.

SingaporeAccess to WIFI in the room has been very frustrating (room 017). Also, as the room is next to the terrace, guests using the terrace smoked and can smell the smoke in the room.
