To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomNo decaffeinated coffee in the room or in the restaurant for breakfast. No spoons in the room to stir drinks. Cups were not replaced, so had to reuse dirty cups the next day. Greeter in restaurant on first morning at breakfast was very brusque and didn’t offer any guidance on where to sit, where the coffee machine was, whether it was a full buffet service or whether we would be served at the table.
Clean, modern, stylish. Hand held steam machine in the room was a lovely touch. Great view over vineyards. Breakfast was delicious. Outside terrace was very nice to sit and enjoy coffee. Complimentary water was appreciated.

The views from the room is amazing. The bed is very comfortable and shower has a lot of water power. Close by the metro station.

United KingdomYou are not in the city centre but there is tram and train links a short walk away. You are by a main road which is busy at all times, it isn’t too loud unless the police sirens are on as they drive past.
The views were incredible. The staff were all really friendly. We would definitely stay again.
