- From £107.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 405 reviewsI had the pleasure of staying at the Blue Oyster, a true oasis in Jambiani. Despite visiting during the off-season when other hotels were more or less closed, the Blue Oyster was thriving with a full house. The entire staff at the hotel provided exemplary hospitality, offering friendly and helpful service. With various room types available, I stayed in room No.19 located towards the back of the property. Despite its location, the refreshing sea breeze was always present, and the room offered partial views of the sea as well as a serene outlook over the central park. The food was of good quality and plentiful, and the level of cleanliness throughout the hotel was impressive. Any requests or needs were promptly attended to by the accommodating reception staff and other employees. The hotel provides an enough number of sunbeds, situated on an elevated place to minimize interruptions from beach vendors, ensuring a peaceful vacation experience. Additionally, the hotel prides itself on maintaining beach cleanliness by cleaning the trash from the beach that was brought by the tide every morning, and they encourage all guests to act sustainably and ecologically. Keep in mind, if you want to swim in the ocean that the beach in front of the hotel is subject to high tidal changes. Overall, I highly recommend the Blue Oyster for a tranquil stay in Jambiani.Guest review byEdvardCroatia
- From £148.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 493 reviewsMy stay at Belvedere Resort was truly remarkable, offering a serene and peaceful retreat. Everything was perfectly balanced and available, including personal sun loungers that added a touch of privacy and comfort to my experience. The pool was a delight, becoming a favorite spot to relax and enjoy the sun. Breakfast was exceptional, featuring a wide variety of options to start the day on a high note, and the dinners were equally impressive, showcasing a fantastic selection of dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. I appreciated the tranquil atmosphere throughout the resort, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The arrangement of the dining tables was superb, ensuring a pleasant mealtime experience. My room was not only stylish but also immaculately clean, reflecting the high standards of the resort. The attention to detail and the effort put into maintaining such a welcoming and pristine environment did not go unnoticed. I highly recommend Belvedere Resort to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway, where every aspect of your stay is thoughtfully curated to ensure a memorable experience. The excellence of both breakfast and dinner adds to the allure, making it a perfect destination for those who appreciate fine dining in a relaxed setting.Guest review byKenEstonia
- From £70.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,499 reviewsTop Location, great staff! We went around and couldnt wait to come "home" to our lodge. Great breakfast, great food at their restaurant. Kids loved the pool, we chilled there every day waiting for sea to come back! Trips around with the boat were unforgettable! The owner is this great guy that is there to help! It was just great!. We had concerns about the fact that the lodge is in the middle of the jungle... witch it is... but that is the beauty of it. You have 2 resident monkeys there, a lot of dogs, birds, geckos (great screams from my wife but they are harmless and after couple of days they were her friends)... About the dogs. I am not a dog person, I am afraid of them actually... but those guys there were like family to them and after 2 days also ours! I have been around a lot and must say that this trip to zanzibar in THIS LODGE in "winter" (we were there in end of FEB) is the unforgettable one!Guest review byBoris BombekSlovenia

- From £155.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 830 reviewsThis resort is as good as all the other reviews say. The staff is wonderful and make you feel right at home. The facilities are modern, clean, environmentally conscious and provide all the comfort and options you could want. The pools are wonderful as swimming in the ocean is only possible for about 3-4 hours every day and the food at the restaurant is amazing. Fresh, local flavours and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the location because the beach was clean and rock free. Also, it wasn't crowded and we could walk into Page or Jambiani if we wanted more activity or shops. It fit our need for quiet and relaxation perfectly. Plus there were several great restaurants on either side of the resort.Guest review byMarieUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 912 reviewsEveryone was super helpful and treated us very well. We were welcomed very Well by MR Said from guest relations. We felt heard and listened to and felt the staff cared about our experience. They have these stairs at the jetty which highlighted our whole trip there coz it was just so easy to sit by the ocean and chill without being scared . The photos do no justice to this place . It’s above and beyond anything we have been to and we have been to some big 5stars in ZanzibarGuest review byShahezanaanTanzania

When they found out we were there to celebrate a birthday, they decorated the room, welcomed us with a special greeting and brought cake! Over all they're very helpful with advice about local experiences and interactions. The beach, pool and rooms were great, would go back for sure. I loved the location, right in the center of Paje beach. The pool and beach restaurant were lovely, and the staff were so friendly! My room was perfect- spacious and air conditioned. Paje beach is one of the most stunning beaches in the world. If you walk out a ways during low tide, you can find starfish! The water is so clear and warm.Guest review byAmandaUnited States

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.Guest review byFionaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I've been in Makunduchi before and if you don't want to be in the tourist hotspot it is great! The beach is fantastic (but be aware of the low and high tides). I would recommend arranging for a driver to get around as there are many great places to visit and you shouldn't stay put in just one place.Guest review byTeaSweden - 10.0
This place is a gem!
This place is a gem! A new hotel with a big heart, right by the ocean, surrounded by peaceful gardens and a stunning pool. The rooms are spacious and stylish, the breakfast is fresh and delicious, and very friendly staff. The connection to the hospitality school is inspiring—it's not just a great stay, it’s also supporting something meaningful.. It’s rare to find a place that feels this good in every way. Thank you, Palmera!Guest review byBISWAJITAUnited States - 10.0

Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats what was nice. Wandered to different restaurants along the beach for lunch and dinner. Limited during off season but enough open. We came via Dar Es Salaam airport and ferry. If you can't get an e-visa before arrival, plan 2hrs to exit the airport. We missed our booked ferry and had to pay again for the last ferry on a different company. Used Zanzibar Quest to book the ferry and transport with exemplary service and support via whatsapp and email. The new travel insurance requirement $50p/p on top of the $50p/p visa fee is a scam that mars the experience. The amount of times we had to show our passport and visa / travel insurance was reminiscent of the cold war. Inefficient and overboard. So if you can fly direct to Zanzibar and use e-visa or have patience and a loose schedule. The drive to the Page beach area took about 1 ½ hrs with the first ⅓ taking ¾ of the time with a typical african road experience. Get a good driver. Driving licenses are issued by testing payment of fee. The driver booked by Zanzibar Quest was excellent. Great beach, wind was consistent during the afternoon to either kite or cool down. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Not a fan of the immigration process or the fees.Guest review byXavierUnited Arab Emirates
