Very cosy place directly at the beach, with amazing food and coffee. It didn’t matter that it was raining a lot, still possible to swim, go for a walk or enjoy the Spa.

Absolute nightmare. When we arrived, they didn’t have our booking. You need to climb up the stairs to the 2nd floor to “check in” and no one is helping. Staff barely speaks any English and they are the most unhelpful people I’ve met working in hospitality. There’s an entire construction site next to the property- be prepared for all day noise and dust. There was a drunk person trying to enter our room at 3am - informed the property manager and I’m yet to get a response a week later. Oh, and the WiFi doesn’t work and also there’s no reception whatsoever. AVOID!!!!!

The receptionists extremely good and very helpful
If you enjoy more of a tourist and party atmosphere this is probably the place for you
I personally prefer the more relaxed atmosphere where the staff are not so ‘on top’ of you
I booked 2 suits unfortunately one was on top of the bar and kitchen so it was quite noisy until midnight
The second suit was bottom floor access to the beach but the beach beds were full of clothes just dumped there
When I mentioned it I was told that it was ok
Not really very good for 2 suits for 500€ a day
Needless to say the next day we changed hotels to a more relaxed one more to my liking
Not to say that the hotel was bad just not for me

Paje is more chill and relaxing than in the north.
Paje is more chill and relaxing than in the north. Best place for kite surfing. The tide can influence the possibility of swimming therefore if you want beach/sun/swimming you better choose north, Kendwa.

Pajde is a small village, BUT you can find everything there.
Pajde is a small village, BUT you can find everything there. ATM, bars, beach kitesurf mostly. If you want to party all night then it might not be your place. If you love watersports and laid-back people then you are in the right spot. Visited Nungwi, but preferred Paje.

On our first day in Paje, the winds were quite strong, making it less suitable for leisure. Most of the local activities centered around kite surfing. So, if you're hoping for calm beachside strolls, Nungwi in the north is a better choice. Additionally, the tidal patterns here differ from what we're used to in the Northern Hemisphere. The tide comes in during the day and recedes in the evening. We once found ourselves stranded on the beach due to the swift rise in tide. It's something to be mindful of if visiting.
We really loved our stay at Malaika as we found this place super cozy and relaxing.
Owners Fati and Omi were really welcoming and nice hosts. Other guests were also friendly to talk to and overall this place has a really nice vibe.
Room was modest but comfortable and we loved the garden! Every day they served a breakfast there which was delicious - plus always a fresh juice as well as coffee/tea available.
We can only recommend this place to people who seek more authentic accommodation than a hotel resort in Zanzibar!
We were in 5 hotels in Zanzibar, and this one was the best! The site is gorgeous and the staff was friendly. Yes, you can say that the bathrooms can be renovated, but this rustic vibe (e.g. wooden shutters on windows, padlock and latch to lock the door) goes well with the surroundings, and also everything was spotless, so really no reason to complain. We also went for a cooking class, where a family shows how to prepare a curry dish in their home. This was such a nice way to learn more about the local community.
The hotel is situated within a five minute walk to the beach. They offer daily yoga classes. Food was good and there is a supermarket nearly. Good location, there are cool restaurants and bars around this area. The bathroom had nice toiletries from Inaya Zanzibar - a local eco brand. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Overall, it's a good Dutch-run hotel that offers European level of service.
Perfect place to stay. European standarts are not often found on the coast but the place has exceeded the expectations for the price paid. Rooms were clean, staff was super friendly. There were quite a few offers for tours arround Zanzibar which was not overpriced. Hotel has also provided airport shuttle service which was comfortable.
Very nice hotel with a lovely garden, great staff, very close to the beach and near restaurants and shops. They also have a nice pool, yoga classes, massage and can organise trips for the guests.
The room was big and very comfortable, with the aircon working really well (and you need it in February when it's so hot in Zanzibar).
Location was perfect for me as it is quite close to the beach also next to the 7/24 supermarket which is not so usual in zanzibar. Everyday rooms are being cleaned. Ventilation and hot water works perfectly which is also not so usual in zanzibar. I had to chance with a lot of people! I will def come and stay next time
Best hostel in Zanzibar!
Had an amazing time there and I would recommend to anyone who is looking to have a good time.
The stuff are generous and really kind, and would assist you with any problem you may have.
The bar is always full with people and the food in the restaurant is delicious.
10/10!
The hotel and especially the staff was awesome! We enjoyed it so much. It was like comming home.
The room was perfect, we had a huge and cozy balcony.
Its two minutes to the private beach but they also had a nice pool area.
If we come back to zanzibar we go to villa huruma for sure!
The hostess manager, Myriam, made this hotel feel like a family. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The food was so delicious! The position is the best plot in Paje, opening into the beautiful beach. The room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was perfection 🙏🏻🙌🏻❤️
The hotel was amazing, the location is straight on the beach there is sunbed in front of the restaurant but also at the pool.
The staff was helpful and always available.
And the food at the restaurant is delicious and the breakfast is one of the best I’ve tried in Zanzibar
Right on a beautiful beach, away from the busy part of Paje but within walking distance of all the other hotels and restaurants; beautiful infinity pool and lounging areas. Great breakfasts, large portions, fresh juice and fruit, coffee or tea. Staff were all very nice.
Paje By Night is super close to the beach. It has a non attached beach lounge for hotel guests only which has food and drinks - it’s comfortable! The restaurant has fantastic food but is a bit pricy. An easy walk to many restaurants and shops!
The personal approach of the staff makes you feel at home from the start. Breakfast was good, rooms are soundproof which is amazing for sleeping. This is also a perfect location for remote working, and WiFi is great, especially for Zanzibar.
Beautiful resort close to paje nightlife and to paje best beach, restaurant cooks the finest and the most delicious meals of zanzibar, various new menu everyday satisfy all tastes. Modern nice room mixed with traditions and fantastic pool.
This is the second time I've been to your Zanzibar Place.
Like my first time, everything was perfect.
The welcome, the managers, the staff, the hostel, the atmosphere, the kitchen. this is the place to be in Paje
❤
Nice hotell hidden behind the beach right next to the market. 5 minutes walk to the beach. Lovely breakfast og very friendly service from start to finish, wil recommended this place to people visiting Zanzibar 😀
Everything! close to the beach, big rooms, good value for money, clean, hot water, very friendly staff and good areas to relax. we tried 5 different places in Zanzibar and this was the best
The hotel is well located at Paje Beach. Direct beach access. The villas have pool in front and the whole place is very nice organised. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
