The dinner was very good and they played music at night which was a fantastic experience. We had a Cave room which was surprisingly temperate despite it being winter.

We were in Morocco when it was a little colder so we couldn't swim in the pool, but we could still enjoy tea on the terrace. We were impressed by the bathroom design and the size of the room as well!

Great location for getting to the Todra gorge or Tinghir. But the best part was the staff. So friendly and welcoming! We really wish we could have stayed more than one night. The air conditioner worked well too and the pool was gorgeous. Excellent food even though it was a small selection. The value for the price was exceptional in my opinion. Special thanks to our waiter and the front desk for going above and beyond. I wish I’d caught their names personally but hopefully they will know who they are as the staff seems small. Hope to go back there again someday soon!

When we got to the place, I immediately noticed that this place seems really popular, and for good reason. Bob was a wonderful host, full of enthusiasm and very diligent. We were met with tea on arrival and he always made sure our needs were being met. We were asked ahead of time if we were going to have dinner with them and were glad we decided to. The multi-course dinner was good and huge for €15 per person. Breakfast was the typical Moroccan breakfast offering plus other stuff in the form of a buffet. The rooms are quite small and basic but clean and comfy. It is next to the road but the road is generally quiet even in the day and extra quiet from sunset onwards. We got a spacious balcony that opened up to a wonderful view of the gorge. We only stayed one night which seemed typical for many of the guests but this place seems to be run very well. Bob also explained how to get to the gorge in great detail. The beginning of the trail to the gorge is only a few minutes away on foot but you can also drive and park there. Bonus: Charlie the good girl is just the sweetest.

La posizione è ottima. Si trova direttamente sulla piazza centrale di Ouarzazate. La città è moderna e viva, non sembra di essere in Marocco, ma in qualche città Europea! Il parcheggio è fuori in strada gratuito. La persona che gestisce l'hotel è molto disponibile e gentile. La colazione la offriranno nel bar sotto all'hotel, anch'esso molto bello e accogliente. C'è l'acqua calda. Per il prezzo pagato, ottimo servizio.

After traveling Morocco for 2 weeks and staying in many riads and berber guest houses at all different price ranges, we still found Dar Isselday to be our favorite. Even though we were only staying here for a night while traveling from Marrakech to Merzouga, the stay itself was quite an memorable experience on its own. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming host (Mohamed) who speaks fluent English, French, and Arabic. Mohamed is very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas (e.g. where to hike) and gave us many suggestions on what to visit beyond the common touristy spots. We followed his suggestion and stayed at a really nice Oasis the following day. After dinner, we got a chance to hang out with Mohamed who shared many interesting stories and insights regarding berber lifestyle and culture. It offered us a rare & honest glimpse into the life of a berber Moroccan. Even though the owner speaks very little English, throughout the night, he frequently checked in on us to make sure we were well accommodated. When he noticed that I was carrying a giant camera, he invited us to the rooftop which has a really beautiful panoramic view of the valley. The guest house is located in a picturesque valley and feels very serene. The guest house has an outside dining area in front of the main building that is extremely well decorated and maintained. You can tell just how much heart and effort the owner has put into this place. The attention to details is simply topnotch. The room has a traditional but modern berber architecture. On this trip, we stayed in several traditional berber guest houses. Even though they were interesting experiences, the living conditions can be quite rough at times. Dar Isselday, on the other hand, not only kept the traditional berber vibe but also included many quality of life improvements. It was surprisingly luxurious.
