Located 3.2 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, THE BLOSSOM KUMAMOTO offers 4-star accommodation in Kumamoto and features a fitness centre, a restaurant and a bar. LOCATION is GREAT ! Literally right next to the JR station. Breakfast was yummy as well. (Beef tendon stew amazed me!) but I wish they could have more choices too. Public bath was great but its indoor so its a little stuffy. However they have few windows above so after opened window it felt less stuffy. Steam room is great ~ strong steam and hot enough. Room is really comfortable and the amenities they provided are good quality.

Conveniently situated in the centre of Fukuoka, A.T. Hotel Hakata is within 1.2 km of Higashisumiyoshi Park and 1.8 km of Otowa Park. Clean and comfortable. The staffs were very polite. They emailed and asked for the arrival time. Check-in only available from 3pm to 7.30pm as there will be no staff after 7.30pm. If need to cook, will need to collect the cooking utensils from the lobby opposite the reception before 7.30pm. Carpark cost 1000yen. Good location. Near Lalaport. Washer is available but not the dryer. However, it's not a problem as can hang the clothes in bathroom with drying function in the room and plenty of hangers were provided. Highly recommend.
Miyako Hotel Hakata 5 stjerner

Open from September 2019, only 150 metres from JR Hakata Train Station, Miyako Hotel Hakata offers stylish rooms with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Unlike the Miyako in Kyoto, this 208-room property is not associated with Westin/Marriott. The hotel is relatively new, around four years old when writing this. We picked the Miyako Hotel Hakata for its excellent location right adjacent to the Hakata train station. The reception is on the third floor. The staff is friendly and professional, and the rooms are excellent - very spacious and bright. Fully equipped with any amenities you might need and with fantastic beds and pillows. The lights, curtains and drapes are controlled by a tablet on a bedside table. The hotel features a lovely outdoor pool on the top floor amd also has a good restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We tried the ten course dinner and it was very good. When in Fukuoka we will pick the Miyako again. One of the top hotels we have stayed at during our many hotel nights in Japan. Comfortable, specious and super clean room with breath taking view. The host was very helpful, you can feel that he cares about each detail in the hotel.

Situated in Yufu, 43 km from Oita Bank Dome, 旅館 竹屋 Takeya features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The location was perfect for me, 10 minutes walking from the train / bus station and on top of a light hill, so the view from our room was incredibly nice. (This also means that if you are going on foot you have to walk uphill, no big deal for us, but if you have heavy luggage it could be difficult). Both dinner and breakfast were japanese-style, but not too traditional on both taste and texture (I say this as a plus, because my partner is not keen on super traditional Japanese cooking and still managed to eat most of his breakfast). We were also offered non-meat options beforehand, which is great! The building is a mixture of western and japanese styles, so for example the common room has high tables and chairs and a parquet, while the rooms have tatami. Everything was lovely, the common area had a beautiful terrace with a view, our room had a small balcony with outside seats and a private onsen bathtub. The owner is a very nice man and we chatted during dinner. We speak good enough Japanese, so language wasn't a problem, but the owner also speaks good enough English and is very helpful. We had free access to coffee, tea and water from the common room and two complimentary water bottles in the room.

The room is super spacious and well equipped. It basically has everything in the kitchen, and a washing machine in the bathroom is a plus.
