Very sweet and helpfull staff, much more welcoming than ever expected. Clean room, comfortable bed. Hotel has a restaurant with possibility of breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is great because list of options for eating out in Shetlands is not very big. Food selection is little old fashioned but food was done well.

St Magnus Bay Hotel ligger i vackra, lugna omgivningar i hjärtat av Shetland. Hotellet besöktes en gång av W. H. Auden och Christopher Isherwood, poeten och dramatikern. Trevligt läge nära natur och hav. Något enkel standard. Mitt rum var ca 9 kvm. Hotellet bär prägel av sin ålder och i behov av omvårdnad.

Busta House har utsikt över Busta Voes strand på Shetlands fastland, och ligger i en gammal byggnad med rum med eget badrum, stor trädgård och servering av fantastiska lokala rätter. Everything. I hated to leave. Andrew was the best. All the staff were wonderful. Food was exceptional.

Scalloway Hotel ligger i Scalloway och har en bar. Det finns en grill och gäster har tillgång till gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. Breakfast was fine and sufficiënt. Fine friendly staff.

Queens Hotel ligger i Lerwick, inom en kort bit från Bain's Beach. Här erbjuds gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Närmaste flygplats är Sumburgh flygplats, 42 km från Queens Hotel. It is perfectly situated. This grand beautiful historic building is being renovated by the present owners. I had a room with a sea view which was magnificent. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the towel warmer and excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were amazing. Sam, the owner’s son, went above the call of duty to provide towels and vacuum the sand I tracked into the room. Harvey, the owner, was fantastic! He even gave me a ride to the bus station. If you are interested in historic preservation this is the hotel for you. It sits actually into the sea next to Bain’s Beach. I had a fabulous week at the Queens Hotel.

Islesburgh House Hostel ligger i Lerwick, 6 minuters promenad från Bain's Beach, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och en restaurang. It’s a rare thing that holiday stays happen to be this amazing 😍 everything in Islesburgh House Hostel was exceptional. The hostel and Community Centre team are warm, happy to chat and eager to advise and help in anything, making guests really feel welcome. The building is simply beautiful, a huge victorian house, trim woodwork, clean and cosy with lots of common areas like a dining room, lounge or a quiet corner for reading. The kitchen is spotless, very spacious and well equipped. I had a bedroom with an en suite, although the shared bathrooms and showers seemed very comfortable as well and there were many. It’s in a very central location in Lerwick, 10 minutes walk from the town centre, 5 minutes walk from a beautiful bay, and the area is also quiet and picturesque with other victorian buildings around. This place has an absolutely unique atmosphere :) I just left, already miss it and hope to visit again in some time in the future :)
