We have stayed here before and will stay here again. The location is truly the best on the coast, or any coast for that matter. The staff are lovely and helpful plus cant beat the rates.

Located in Whangaroa, 36 km from Kemp House and Stone Store, Whangaroa Lodge Motel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. the view from the hotel is amazing. when we arrived, we were greeted and welcomed by Judy. We had a very large room with everything you need for a lovely stay. The highlight, however, were the incredibly valuable tips and advice from Judy and her husband. We have travelled a lot, but we have never received such personal (and handwritten) advice and tips for our trip. We can unreservedly recommend a stay there!

The motel itself is what it is: a motel built in the sixties and not updated since but it has a good feel, is spotlessly clean and the linen is crisp. I plan on becoming a regular.

Easy access, and even though on the highway, it was quiet. Quick check-in. Shared laundry, but we arrived just in time to get a load done. Our apartment actually looked better than the photos, the kitchen was functional with enough equipment to make a little dinner. We had a spa bath, which we didn't have time to use, but loved that towel warmer. We found a classical music station on the TV! It's nice they provide real milk for your coffee or for hot chocolate with your cookies.
