An older property but looked after very well. Trevor welcomed us on arrival and told us everything we needed to know and answered any questions we had. We spent two nights and wished we had more time.Paihia is a quaint and beautiful little town in the Bay of Islands. The motel was within very easy walking distance of the town with several resort choose from. The included breakfast was phenomenal and served right to our door right at the chosen time. We highly recommend Paihia Star Motel for value and a wonderful stay. It was well appointed, clean and friendly and the beds most comfortable! Thank you Trevor!!!

We got a very warm welcome from John the owner. He also gave us a lot of information about the area and many of the local sights to see. He showed us to our room, which turned out to be a spacious, clean and well equipped 1 bedroom unit. We were pleasantly surprised. He and his staff were friendly and accommodating at all times. The room was very comfortable and there were a large number of TV channels, which was good, as there was a day of heavy rain, which precluded any outdoor activities. Restaurants, shopping, the wharf and most activities were a 3 to 5 minute walk away. The beach was just across the road from the motel. Paihia is a lovely town and the motel was beyond our expectations.

Incredible location and super friendly staff. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Balcony/Terrace with a really nice view of the waterfall and lake. Kayaks were available free of charge and staff at reception gave wonderful tips for local sightseeing. Showers also had the highest water pressure I had yet to experience - very comfortable!

It's set back from the road, unlike most other motels in the area, which means it's perfectly quiet and no road noise when you want to sleep. Beds were comfy too. The small kitchen (microwave, electric hob, kettle, toaster) was very useful, and we appreciated that it was in a separate little room to our bedroom. The pool and hot tub were an additional bonus (although the pool was probably a little cold for some!). Laundry facilities also a plus.
