Company information
At westergårds lives a family with young children. Here you can find football players (boys 11y and 12y) to catch a game with. We also offer boat rides to different locations, islands, restaurants nearby or just hire us for a boat trip to Mariehamn. If you wish to try fishing we can fix it, although if fishing is a hobby we prefer you have your own equipment (otherwise ask us in advance). We can also offer a kayak (fit for two)for rent. Children can also try horseback riding at our own paddock for extra charge or a ride in the sulky with the small pony. "Everything is possible" is our philosophy and we always listen to requests from our guests. Welcome to our small farm.
Property information
Westergård is situated in rustic surroundings at a small farm on Föglö Island in the Aland Islands arhipelago. The cosy old farm is situated in a small village called Granboda. Here you will live on a farm surrounded by animals. Feed the rabbits, the chickens, the sheep and groom the ponies. You can find cottages/rooms called "Lillstugan", "Visthusboden" and "The stable" and you have your own private garden/space. You will be living close by the owners but still have your own privacy.
The ferry (30 min) takes you from Svinö to Föglö and only 5 km from Degerby you will find Westergård.
"Lillstugan" offers you 1 bedroom (160cm bed), 1 livingroom (160cm bed) and a sofa, kitchen, bathroom and a “real old finnish sauna”. "Visthusboden" offers you a small cottage (30m2) with kitchen, bathroom and a living room (with a sofa-2 beds) and a loft with two beds, perfect for one family. "The old stable" offers one room with a double bed and a kitchen corner. There is a separate bathroom.
Westergårds is situated about 500 m from the sea and you can take the bike and jump into the sea from the small jump tower close by.
There are two bigger beaches at Föglö.
Neighbourhood information
In Degerby, the main village, you will find a grocery shop, a few restaurants among these the popular fish restaurant Seagram. You can visit the local museum, play mini golf or garden chess in the community or just take a stroll down to the sea and lay down on the warm cliffs. The village also offers historical old wooden houses from a bygone "sea generation". Degerby is also visited by ships now and then. There are two hiking trails at Föglö and you can also visit a sandy beach.
