The host Gandi is super helpful, helping us arranging trip to Abu Simbel and Luxor. The driver to Luxor (i even didn’t know his name) is really nice, careful, and thoughtful. He drove us to 2 temples along the way in an unbelievable hot day. Our whole family likes him a lot. Hope he has a safe trip back home.

Bassam's terrace is my favorite place to chill out in entire Egypt! I felt immediately at home when I first arrived, and despite the great museums and attractions nearby, I spent most of my free time on the terrace enjoying the sun, Nubian music, and just chatting to Bassam. The rooms are understandably basic but comfortable to sleep in, and it's only a short walk from the public ferry. Remember to bring your own toiletries!

Dobry hostel dla osób podróżujących z plecakiem. W nocy zimą jest zimno, natomiast jest gorąca woda, łazienka, prysznic wszystko jak należy. Mieliśmy dwuosobowy pokój ze wspólną łazienką. Wygląda to jak małe mieszkanie, ponieważ też jest dostęp do kuchni, kuchenki gazowej. Na śniadanie są bułeczki, więc też dobrze zawsze coś zjeść na drogę. Lokalizacja jest okej, w zależności od potrzeb. Okolica cicha, kilka metrów od hostelu jest sklep. Właściciel pomoże wam zorganizować wycieczkę do Abu Simbel i spakuje śniadanie w drogę. Wyjazd jest około 4 nad ranem, więc śniadanie bardzo się przydaje. Dziękujemy za gościnność.

True Nubian Village experience complete with farm animals, freshly prepared Nubian meals, and excellent hospitality from the staff. (Note, this is not a hotel with the usual amenities like memory foam mattresses, towels in abundance, extra toiletries, central air, etc. If you are looking for that, then this is not the place for you.) Mamoud made the different for us during our stay. He is the guest services manager and he was punctual with responding to any requests we may have had and supplying us with information to get around town etc. Also a plus, the property is on the Nile River, which presented multiple opportunities for amateur and professional photo shoots. Overall, we genuinely enjoyed this experience and the people we encountered here. Great stay for a genuine Nubian village experience.
