The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. Honestly everything! Maybe one of the best hotel stays ever. The sun deck balcony is amazing place to relax and chill, the hotel staff is great, the views stunning. Can’t wait to come back!

Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. Excellent hotel, great facilities, staff and breakfast. Could not fault this hotel.

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. Great hotel, friendly staff and good food. Pools are are great and the gardens beautiful. Very nice experience provided.

Les Suites at The Cliff Bay features a heated outdoor swimming pool and a garden in Funchal. We stayed at this hotel for part of our honeymoon and loved our experience. The property was beautiful, the views spectacular, staff helpful and kind, room spacious and clean, and food fresh and delicious. We loved being able to hear the waves against the cliffs and the birds chirping. It's also helpful to note that you can benefit from using the amenities at the sister property next door as well.

Set within a leafy garden, this hotel boasts an outdoor pool overlooking Funchal coastal cliffs. Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel‘s studios are spacious and decorated with soft beige colours. The staff was really friendly, location is great, as hotel is right by the ocean. In the evening the sound od waves is the only thin one hears. Self service buffet breakfast was great, there is a lot of choises. When weather was good, you can eat on the terrace. And semi circular room gives beautiful views of the ocean and cliffs near Funchal. Would come again!

Breakfast included, also liked a variety of food choices: from chia pudding to potato nuggets and fresh fruits. Especially being a vegeterian I found everyday what to eat, for vegans it would be difficult. 2. The view from our room. We were speechless.. You can watch the sea, sunrise and sunsets just from your balcony. Huge thanks to staff’cause we asked specifically this room. 3. All of the staff was super friendly. 4. Room service. 5. Private parking (but chargeable 6€/day). 6. Outdoor pools and plenty of space for sunbathing. 6. The birthday surprise on the house and mini gift after check out. So nice and caring! 7. The mini bar by the pool! 8. Live music (depends on the day).
