It was a little more run-down, a few less amenities than I'd have thought, but the bed was comfy enough, and it was clean -- and I could bring my dog!

Portland is a walkable city. Too many wonderful restaurants for one trip!
My favorites from this trip: Fore Street Restaurant, Honey Paw, and Jing Yan. My husband loved Bar Futo and the bar at Via Vecchia.

We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine.
We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine. We usually stop at the Kittery Trading Post along our drive. In Portland we like to take in historical homes and sites like the Victorian Mansion or the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow home. There are lots of restaurants and pubs in the waterfront area. One of our favorites is the Ri' Ra' where I typically enjoy a Guinness with the fish and chips.

My work in Portland shows me a diverse striving community that is trying to care for its citizens. That diversity is revealed through exploring the shops underneath and around the "Hopeful" sculpture/sign on Forest Ave.

Best seafood ever.
Best seafood ever. Very nice restaurants and bars and excellent, friendly service in all places. Nice little interior or similar shops. Some more or less interesting galleries, interesting Arts Museum. But two full days are enough for visiting downtown Portland.
Lovely hiking trails at about 30 minutes from the town.
This hotel was conveniently located right off the interstate, and only about 15 minutes from downtown Portland. We enjoyed the indoor pool, as we arrived during an unusual heat wave. But the best hidden perks are the two attached restaurants. The Volcano has an incredible Greek chef - we had the best soup and Pizza crafted by an expert! And the breakfast at Stacks was exceptional as well - great value, giant portions, and great service. Hidden gem for sure!
Its really all about the location in Portland! The hotel rooms themselves felt a little old, but they were clean and the lobby was really nice. I very much believe that anywhere you stay is going to be similar pricing and you have to pay for valet anywhere on the waterfront, but you might find a more modern hotel for the $400 a night rate if you do a little searching. But really - it was fine for what it is and we were not there to hang out in the hotel anyway.
Great location, right in downtown Portland. Beautiful little apartment with a brilliantly stocked bathroom and kitchen which included everything I needed for a three week stay. Lovely, comfortable bed and lots of storage space through the apartment as well. Low ceilings may be an issue for anyone over 6ft.
The apartment itself was cute and cosy - but multiple issues with Vacasa management company means I would avoid ever returning.
I found this wonderful apartment on Trivago and it exceeded my expectations. It was a better value than the local hotels and in a fantastic location close to Old Port and all the wonderful restaurants that are there. We were only in the city for 1 night so it was perfect! The place was very modern and comfortable as well. We did not have a need for the kitchen but it would be night to have if we were there longer.
very quiet, clean, and dog friendly! the rooms were very welcoming and so clean. the property was beautiful, cozy and welcoming. it is about a 10 minute walk to old port which was perfect for us- we wanted to be away from the craziness of the downtown night life and this was perfect. I had so much fun and we will definitely return with our pup!
The room was quiet, private, and clean. We loved the coffee bar/fridge area with the complimentary coffee, utensils, and cups. The bathroom was amazing - heated floors, large vanity/mirror, beautiful shower. And a deal compared to some of the hotels closer to Old Port just down the road. Finding on street parking was never an issue for us.
A lovely location, only 10-ish mins walk to the main part of downtown/ the waterfront, yet super quiet at night. The apartment is gorgeously presented and very well equipped. We loved our stay. Easy to access, super-friendly and helpful hosts. Easy parking right by the apartment entrance. We hope to return!
A fantastic building with lots of history, conveniently located halfway between the train station and the waterfront. Close to downtown and the Old Port for a nice walk.
Terrific reception staff, and a lovely glass of bubbles when checking in.
Room was very cosy, with good wifi connection.
The hotel is quaint and the location is very convenient for commuting towards the downtown area or outside of Portland. The room was cozy and clean, the staff was very nice and friendly. We also loved the muffins they served during breakfast.
Staff was really helpful and kind. I really appreciated that.
Hotel was close to downtown (around 6min by car).
Room was clean and spacious.
Breakfast was nice but could be improved (more fruit options, using less disposable utensils)
The location was very convenient for walking to restaurants and shops. We could not have been happier that we upgraded to a room with a water view—there is not another Old Port hotel that rivals the unimpeded sight of Casco Bay.
Took a long weekend. (from Manchester NH) Very convenient to downtown. Had a great time in Old Port. Pool was nice.(go early before the kids invade). Staff were very nice. We will stay here again. We like the Portland area.
Lovely Inn with caring staff and comfortable rooms. Beds had good bedding and pillows, rooms were clean and plenty of water, tea, coffee and brownies in the communal area. Downtown 25-30 minute walk.
