Nice place between Piran and Koper.
Nice place between Piran and Koper. Whole seaeside in Slovenia is nice with excellent beaches. There were not too many people in the beginning of May. Nice place for swimming, cycling, wine drinking.

it's a small city with good connection to other parts of Slovenian coast; the city center is very nice with plenty of cafes and restaurants, we enjoyed the cycle paths and cycle roads to Koper and Isola; we prefer to stay in Izola comparing to Portoroz and Koper and it's not so crowdy and everything is close also walking or using bicycle

Izola is a small jewelry box.
Izola is a small jewelry box. With narrow streets, the delicious aromas of Mediterranean cuisine can be felt during an evening walk. We can meet very nice people here among the hosts. We ate fantastic food at the restaurants along the coast. You can eat fresh seafood straight from the sea. We are returning guests here and it was certainly not the last time we visited the town.TundeHungary - 10Scored 10

Lovely cosy seaside town. We enjoyed our stay as there were not many tourists, it is not crowded not even near the sea (not like Portoroz). The beaches are with stones, but that is ok if you have water shoes. You can find all the amenities you need in Izola - shops, market, post office, restaurants, pharmacy, bakery.... It is possile to travel to nearby towns by bus or by boat - Portoroz, Piran, Koper. To Koper is also a nice was from Izola along the sea or it is also possible to rent a bike.Miroslava - 10Scored 10
Small quiet town.
Small quiet town. Many good restaurants, cafes, pastry shops, bars. Excellently built cycling routes. The surrounding towns of Portorož, Piran, Piranske soline, Koper are accessible by bicycle. Friendly people. Nice beaches, clean sea. Many options for trips to the surrounding area (Trieste, Miramare Castle, Sistiana/Italy or Umag, Poreč, Rovinj, Pula/Croatia or Lipica, Postojna, Ljubljana, Tolmin, Bled/Slovenia)Ivan PavlišSlovakia - 8.0Scored 8.0
Nice place.
Nice place. But look closely to the menu before entering a restaurant. Get a table in those where the locals with sweatpants and flip-flops are. Water is very clear and warm. Nice landscapes in the region. Leave Portoroz alone (unless you are a gambler).

We had dinner at the restaurant and were given a complimentary appetizer and glass of wine. The food was very high quality and fresh. Breakfast was also very good with lots of choices. Sadly, we only got to stay one night. If we ever are able to return to Slovenia we will certainly stay at Belvedere Resort again. I highly recommend this place for lodging and food. The staff is excellent and friendly.

The room was very large and the jacuzzi and sauna were a wonderfully luxurious break on my travels. Each staff member I interacted with was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast charcuterie spread was lovely and the addition of made to order egg dishes was quite satisfying. The location is just a 10 min walk from a swimming spot next to the marina and surrounded by restaurants. Will absolutely stay here again when I return to Slovenia

Check in was very easy with the friendly host and having easy secure parking was a real plus. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre where there are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed our short break here.
