We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer than one night. The suite was spacious and fabulous. Everything was very modern and clean and we had an extremely large bathroom 'suite'. There was plenty of space for everything. We had complimentary fruit on arrival. The staff were so helpful and pleasant. I thought I had lost my passport whilst unpacking and one of the staff spent a lot of time helping me to find it with very good grace. The breakfast was very good. I didn't use all the facilities. I wasn't expecting them as I thought the hotel was 3* but it really was of 4* calibre as far as I was concerned.

Francesca was so friendly and informative at checkin, best checkin ever. The hotel is beautiful, just a year old so everything is nice and new. Rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. Live pianist at breakfast was the highlight and the breakfast was very tasty and varied. Free use of the spa is rare to find these days and it was great to use after a long day on the Camino. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!

Gorgeous city by the sea.
Gorgeous city by the sea. Beautiful blend of the old and the new, from a bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel to a modern shopping plaza in the centre of town near the main train station. A definite Parisian feel with lots of colorful sidewalk cafes and shops along clean, tree lined streets. I highly recommend making this a stop on your tour of Northern Portugal.

Viano do Castelo has a nice maritime feel to it with nearby beaches, historic old city center, many good restaurants, and sits below the amazing Santa Luzia Cathedral. One must visit the Cathedral and if daring go up to the top of the Cathedral (mix of elevator and then steps) for the best 360 degree views of the region, ocean and land.

I loved everything about Viana do Castelo.
I loved everything about Viana do Castelo. It was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely one of the best nights of my life! The people, the decorations, the lights and although a lot of fun was being had, it just felt so safe and welcoming!
The next morning the streets were spotless, everyone wishing you a Happy New Year and it was all in all just perfect. I'll definitely be coming back. In fact I'd love to live there!

Lovely town to stroll around with lots of interesting buildings/architecture, nice boutiques and specialist shops and a good mix of places to eat. If we had stayed longer it would have been worth having a car but for 4 nights it was fine without. (Hotel has a car park)

The breakfast was excellent and the location was unbelievably picturesque, not to mention conveniently close to everything a person visiting could need. I nedded to shelter myself from the rain on my last day in Viana do Castelo and, even though I had checked out, the staff not only let me leave my luggage there in my attempt to walk about the city, but also let me stay a while until the weather got better. The weather didn't improve but I was welcome in the hotel, regardless!
Great value for money. It was my first room by myself on the Camino, as a treat. The hospitality was fantastic. Since arriving in Portugal I’ve developed an allergy’s cough. I asked the host in the morning if she had anything for a cough, expecting possibly cough sweets, instead she made me a homemade cough mixture from homemade honey and lemons. Which really did help!! This place is an absolute rural gem on the Camino. There’s also a little restaurant just a 5 min walk away.
Breakfast was fabulous. Location, exceptional. Right in the middle of the town. Owner and her husband spoke little English but other employee was always accessable and very helpful. Much history to the home and the staff shared that with much pride. We took an UBER from Porto but then took the bus back to the Porto Airport. Very dooable. We loved the city of Viana do Castelo. Such a relaxing and more Portuguese place that Porto. Lots to see.
Very friendly and welcoming front desk. We were hiking El Camino de Santiago and tired, and this hotel was on the other side of town. GPS was taking us further down the beach than the actual location, so we were very happy we found it. Room was very nice with a view. The beach at this stage is mostly rocks, and during our stay in May it was fairly cool out, but great views. Overall, a very nice stay for our journey.
Amazing location right on the sea front with stunning views. Rooms were large, spacious and very clean with a love balcony overlooking the sea and super bathroom. Would recommend staying here and would book again if visiting Viana do Castelo. Right on the Camino coastal route. If I have any comment it would be the restaurant - my vegetables (spinach) weren’t the best but that is personal choice.
Do not walk, but run to book this place!! It was a beautiful mix of boutique hotel and feeling like you were staying in the comfort of someone’s home. The owners were so kind, patient, and helpful. The place was immaculate! I wish I could’ve stayed here longer! This is easily accessible on one of the Camino routes.
The hotel is a Pousada and is located on a hill top - an outstanding position.
The view from a room facing south is gorgeous.
The room was spacious, the beds were good.
The atlantic provides a gentle noise from the distance (window open).
Check-in and parking are perfect.
The hotel bar is well furnished :-)
If you plan to stay a few days in this region of Portugal, look no further! This was one of the nicest stays in a long time, we immediately felt like being at home! Ricardo is a very friendly person and offers a lot of helpful tips, including a number of good restaurants or what to do if there is bad weather.
Everything! Beautiful luxurious hotel right on the Camiño! Very clean and comfortable and the staff was exceptional! They insisted on preparing us a wonderful breakfast to go the next morning, since we were leaving out early.
Great value for money. Perfect location close to the city centre. Hotel has a good restaurant and across the street is a very nice and high quality bakery (they had a 10m cue all day long)
This is a wonderful little hotel in Viana do Costelo. The owner is very friendly and helpful with suggestions for your visit, the location is excellent and the rooms are comfy and quiet.
beautiful place and tasteful design. very nice and helpful stuff. great breakfast (actually the best we had during our 3week. stay in Portugal, fresh products of good quality)
Wonderful welcome basket of goodies, and very attentive hosts. Lots of local restaurants a short drive away and very good position for sightseeing northern Portugal.
