A good size room, nice and quiet after the dining room was finished and cleaned up, as the room was right next to it, and the scraping of things was terrible to listen to.

The place was in the middle of the cozy village. Guys who look after it were very helpful and even when I struggled with the electronic door lock in the middle of the night - everything was solved in a most efficiant way.

Very practical and easy self check in.
Well equipped little flat. You have everything for yourself, no shared spaces. The bed/mattress is surprisingly comfy, I slept like a baby :)
Plenty of parking spaces.

Among all the reviews, when it comes to this apartment, I must first mention the warm-hearted hosts, who made us feel the warmth of home during our journey. Not only that, but the interior design of this apartment is undoubtedly one of the most thoughtful among the many apartments and hotels we have stayed in. The yellow exterior is also pleasing to the eye and leaves a lasting impression. In conclusion, this is a highly recommended apartment to stay in, and we look forward to staying here again next time.

Hótel Karólína was such a nice place to stay; the room was comfortable and the shared lounge was a lovely space to spend some relaxing time. The person who made the breakfasts (sorry can't remember her name) was just delightful and meeting her was one of the highlights of our stay!

Cozy place, well heated, very nice view, very quiet, nicely furnished, comfy beds, only a few km from the next village, where we got nice breakfast at the bakery and had delicious dinners at both restaurants.

Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. Because of this we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. But we did have excellent takeaway fish and chips from the harbour front at Hafnarvaginn

Small, quiet (at this time of year) but very peaceful and beautiful! We caught our best show of the northern lights here! Also, would highly recommend Narfreyrarstofa for dinner, delicious and great atmosphere!

I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic architecture located on an active harbour. Beautiful ocean views from the harbour-adjacent island walk! Enjoyed soaking at the local pool/hot pots, and happy to have a bakery, grocery store, and restaurants to choose from for meals. I would gladly stay here again, or for more than one night to see some of the local museums which were closed over Easter weekend.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They knew the area well and could recommend meals and other services to us. We ate at a very nice fish restaurant where the one waitress ran the entire restaurant efficiently and in a timely fashion.Great food

Great location on north side of peninsula.
Great location on north side of peninsula. Wish we’d had more time to explore. Excellent northern lights viewing near the lighthouse. Go up the stairs toward the lighthouse and turn left to block harbor lights.

It is a nice little town by the sea.
It is a nice little town by the sea. There is a small hill by the harbor you can climb that offers beautiful views. There are also a few restaurants, cafes, shops and museums but it is also nice to just walk around.
i would love to say a huuuge THANK You for the owner(Skarph ?) to having us in this beautiful gem. loved this cosy , super clean warm hotel.
we arrived there at 29 may, booked the cheapest priced room, but the owner upgraded us because the hotel was not fully booked that day.

Hotel Fransiskus is a very well located, nice hotel that delivers exactly what it promises. The staff is nice and very friendly - that applies to each and everyone in the reception and down in the breakfast hall. Only thing missing there is a full English but that is of course a matter of preference. The continental buffet had something for everyone and everything was fresh and tasty. Thank you Fransiskus - we will be back!
So happy that this was our first stop on our Iceland roadtrip. The hotel was very cosy, clean and rooms seemed to be recently done up, too. Big thanks to Sarah and Tim for all the conversations, suggestions and insider advice that only locals can give :) Also really loved the family vibe with guests chatting at the breakfast table.
Booked two rooms for my family during our travel driving the ring road clockwise.
Set in a remote location, this is a quaint family-run hotel. The owners go out of their way to provide excellent service.
Large car park, good sized rooms, good breakfast, good service by the husband and wife owners and their son Sigi.
This small hotel is a 10 minute drive from the town of Stykkishólmur. It is remotely located on a gravel road, but we loved the setting. They offer a dinner option, which was great. Breakfast was also an added charge, but we enjoyed the convenience of having breakfast. We enjoyed our stay.
This is, without doubt, one of the best stays I`ve had in Iceland. The host was very kind and helpful. Cottages and hotel rooms were very clean. They provide all the kitchen appliances you need. Great location, I would definitely spent more days there if I had time.
The hotel was great! The room was spacious, clean and had modern amenities. We had a nice view as well. The breakfast buffet prepared by Joy was amazing! It offered something for everyone and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.
The guesthouse is so beautiful and well located.
The common area is spacious and nicely decorated as the room.
The bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was very clean.
The staff was very nice.
We did the check in in the hotel near the guesthouse.
Beautiful, spotlessly clean room with a lovely hostess. Perfect location right in town and our room has a harbor view. Breakfast was ready early - very much appreciated in late starting Iceland - and beautifully prepared.
Small hotel with few rooms upstairs and downstairs. Comfortable beds, Good Wifi! Good breakfast with yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, variety of cold cuts/cheese and home made pastry.
This is a wonderful cozy bungalow in the middle of the stunning Icelandic nature. It is very warm and comfortable, has anything you may need. Perfect for Aurora Borealis watching.
Very clean and close to harbor ferry.
Had true Iceland character.
Wonderful communication from host and very easy to find and get checked in.
Loved the homemade slippers.
Great location next to a golf place, comfy kitchen with everything you need, super clean. It's a self check-in hotel, so you can travel without pressure.
