We are group of family (6 people) and booked 2 triple rooms which they managed the room to be closed as requested. The triple rooms have 2 levels (2 beds on the first floor and the other one on the second floor) which is really lovely. There are big windows to see the view which is different between first and second floor. The view from the room is beautiful. There are a lot of parking lot available, and we can temporarily park near the building to bring our luggages down first. The checkin and checkout process is easy.

Easy self check-in service. The guesthouse also has a jacuzzi which we made great use of! The decorations in the house itself were very wholesome, lots of Dutch souvenirs which made us feel right at home. :)
Finnstaðir has barbecue facilities and a garden. A hot tub is available for guests. Free WiFi is offered. All units at the guest house are equipped with a seating area and a TV.

We were there for 1 night as a group of 6 people. Wonderful location! It's not in the middle of the town, so that was a big plus for us. Peace and quiet, cats, chickens and sheep around the house, and the best are horses right outside the window! Something fabulous! The house itself is very large, has several rooms, and is very useful. Large kitchen and 2 bathrooms. There was absolutely everything needed for the duration of the stay. We highly recommend staying there in a rural atmosphere, it's beautiful!

We stayed at the Berjaya overnight as we were driving the N1 ring road, we visited the Vok baths, an absolute must if you are visiting Egilsstadir.
It’s only a 5 minute drive from the hotel it was wonderful.

This was a great stopping point after driving the eastern Fjords on a Sunday. They had a couple places that were open where we could eat, get gas and groceries. This town was a nice place to stay after driving through many of the lovely villages along the coast and before heading to Husavik. You're also close to Hengifoss and not far from Studlagil Canyon, though we only drove halfway down the road before we gt nervous with the icy road right on the side of a cliff.

We loved the tourist info center there along the lake with the Gunnar Gunnerson museum and restaurant. We had a great buffet meal there. We enjoyed the tourist rest area because the lady there spent time with us as we looked around at the exhibits. It was an unexpected surprise.

Good hotel overall.
Good hotel overall.
Locally, we went to Vik Baths, very good experience.
On our 10 day driving the Ring Road, we had already visited the Blue Lagoon. Vik Baths was an alternative to the Blue Lagoon, well worth visiting.

Practical location. A lot of to explore around the town.
Practical location. A lot of to explore around the town. We were on a short travel and the weather was fine, so we didn't use a lot of services there. We are planning an other travel there because there are so much to do 😀
Maybe the best hotel we stayed at during our two-week road trip around Iceland! The room was comfortable and spacious, the location was good, and the staff were friendly. But the two things that stood out the most were the delicious breakfast that was way better than the other hotel breakfasts we’d had, and the fact that this hotel can do your LAUNDRY! On day 8 of our trip, this was clutch! And one load was only 2500 isk, which was a deal in our eyes to be able to leave the laundry while we explored.
Excellent location. There was a river on one side and snow covered mountains in the distance. The other side was a forest. We were in the midst of nature.
Nice kitchen with basic utensils, stove top, fridge, hot water kettle, dishes and cutlery.
A living room with sofa and TV. Everything was compact, but amenities were there. WiFi was better than what was available at many hotels.
Wish we had more time to stay at this place and enjoy the nature.
Lockbox for keys for easy access, quiet location with great lake views but still close to the main roads. Short 5-7min drive to Vok Baths and everything you need to cook your own dinner and enjoy while looking at beautiful scenery. Can open windows and get great cross breeze into the cottage. For some reason, other hotels (although not cottages) we stayed at all over Iceland during out trip just lacked air ventilation...Would book again.
Very nice and helpful owners, quiet and secluded location by the river, 5min from Egilsstadir and Vok Baths, terasse with a grill outside, just off Rte 1. Cars driving by not causing unnecesary disturbance, since road noise is minimized by trees in front of the cottage. Very comfortable beds. Easy self check-in, towels and bedsheets provided and nicely fresh smell.
The owner of this place was amazing and super helpful. We had a really nice stay at this hotel, everything is brand new and clean. Very cosy place to stay right on the ring road trip. Definitely one of the best places during our Iceland trip!
Staff was very friendly, there was confusion between the hostel and hotel regarding the booking. At the end of the day still got what was listed on the site. The woman behind the front desk quickly fixed the issue and was very apologetic.
What a fantastic hotel! We loved the property and room. There was a nice lake view from our room and we enjoyed the hot tubs overlooking the lake. Breakfast was included and was tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful.
This was a great place for us to stay when passing through Egilsstadir. The small living space was well appointed and comfortable with an expansive view of the valley. And the hot tub was wonderful.
The room was very clean, it had a private bath, and a garden view. The hotel was quiet. There is a shared very well equipped kitchen with two refrigerators and dining area for about 10-15 people.
I didn't like anything about the property. All the main highways were shut down and we could not get to the hotel and they refused to give us a refund. I would highly stay away from this hotel.
Finnstadir is located near Egilsstadir with outstanding views to the valley and the airport (if you have visibility). Ideal planespotting location. The house is cozy a well-equipped.
There was a black cat at the front door to greet us. His bowls were on the porch so he is a hotel cat. Looked just like our cat back home. Remember that more than anything.
