Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London,...
Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London, is a pleasant working class suburb of London. The streets were clean and during the day I was happy to see that the shops were all used and open for trade. The people were approachable and friendly (although as in most places there are bound to be others that are not). I went to a local cafe and had something to eat and drink, it was surprisingly cheap and good quality. As it was New Years eve, I had to return to the area in the early hours of the morning, however, felt safe doing so, (again just be aware of the surroundings and stay alert, but this would be the same in any area). Overall, I found Barking a lovely down to earth area.

For a 2 star hotel it rated well....staff were able to provide a fan as the room was not sufficiently cool enough for sleeping
Staff were friendly and cooperative...drawback location being some distance from Barking railway station...at least 15/20 minutes walk

The room was boiling hot. there wasn't any AC available. no spare pillows and bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. shower facility was very poor. the room was very small. They call it hotel but most of the customers looked like council use this place as refuge accommodate those people. very poor quality for the money. Totally waste of money and Saturday night.
Terrible area. Terrible hotel. Terrible everything there. Even thought you might be low on budget, do NOT stay at the bank hotel in barking if you care for your health. The place should close and be sanitized. All the furnitures, beds etc should be burned. I am NOT exaggerating.

The child bunk bed was very hard and uncomfortable and it was not made on arrival so we had to put sheets on ourselves bathroom had no lock and my 3 year old can easily open the door if i was using the toilet or shower! Keycards did not work and caused us a lot of frustration and really made our whole experience at the hotel very disappointing would not stay here again wasnt cheap to book this place either at £80 is definitely not a budget hotel the family room was very small for the price
We did not have any food whilst at the hotel, so cannot comment on this side of the visit. The bed room was spacious enough for two; quiet and comfortable. There was no traffic noise once the windows wew closed. The hotel is a two minute walk to the bus stops for Barking town in one direction and Stratford in the other. This was our second visit - the first was to the Ibis hotel next door. We chose the budget hotel to compare with the other Ibis hotel next door. In both cases you get what you pay for.
very clean, spacious, heating and air conditioning also had a fridge and tv in my room as well as a kettle, a desk and chair, it was in a very popular busy fun area with lots to do so it was very accessible and a great location spot you won’t run out of things to do, and a massive range of buses to take you anywhere around london!
It is a nice little hotel in a market town which mean there are plenty of choices food wise nearby, even late at night. It is about 6 minutes walk away from Barking Station where you can get most tube lines and if your attending an event at Spurs Stadium it is pretty easy to get to.
Highly recommended! Flat in very good condition, two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms plus living room. Spacious, comfortable and clean. Close to the Barking metro station. Very nice owner, explained everything to us. When we are in London again we will also use it. Regards!
Lots of space, was very quiet considering it is besides a construction site and the north circular road. Host was extremely friendly.
It is advertised down to a tee, the images depict it perfectly too.
Thanks for my great, albeit short stay.
A good clean, freshly decorated room. Good powerful shower. Bed was comfortable. TV had good reception and also access to streaming services. Air con a real benefit. Close to Barking Station to get into central London.
It is located very close to Barking station with access to the Underground, Overground and C2C lines. It is an average hotel with basic amenities that ticks a box.
.Better than expected for the price, location is OK, a bit sus in the evening but it's close to the Barking station. Comfortable bed for the price, big bathroom.
The price was good and the look of the hotel was clean and relatively modern. Some of the communal areas - stairs, kitchen - were shabbier and poorly maintained
