a quirky hotel in the middle of town - we loved it ! We were travelling on six motorcycles and the receptionist was at the door to meet us when we arrived and let us in to the car park!
Such a unique and charismatic property, it’s an experience not just a hotel stay!
The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, the hotel had everything you needed and was set in such a quiet area, you really did get to relax set in lovely and peaceful surroundings. The pool was also a bonus and well worth a dip, and breakfast was ample with a good selection of food & drinks available, also very reasonably priced. complimentary half bottle of local wine was a lovely touch and the resident cat made our stay!
The location just outside Saumur was very convenient. When approaching the hotel through the narrow alley the excitement increases. The reception by the staff was great and very friendly. The room decoration is very creative, yet completely functional. The cave swimming pool is simply fantastic. We drank the 1/2 bottle of complimentary wine on the terrace in front of the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was excellent.
This hotel was phenomenal, and I wish we could've stayed longer. The room we had was built into a cave, and it was by far the best sleep I had my entire trip (the room was cool and quite). It was so nice to be able to take a dip in the pool (also in a cave!) during the hot afternoons. The proprietor had great recommendations for restaurants and activities. The breakfast was delicious.
Excellent hotel, in superb location for exploring the Saumur-Champigny wine region of Loire valley. Calm, quiet and quaint hotel to relax in after busy days exploring. Excellent recommendations received from the hotel of nearby restaurants in the village of Turquant.
Very unique hotel. Yannick was an amazing host - very engaging, gave us great recommendations on where to visit/dine and also made reservations for us. He was very welcoming, making us feel like we were his guests at his house. Would come back
A clean, comfortable beautiful property with an accommodating owner. Fabulous pool. Regional foods sourced locally for breakfast. Peaceful location, we slept really well. The hotel has a link to a troglodyte restaurant and a vineyard!.
Yannick (the hotel owner) was an exceptional host. Nothing was ever a problem and his local knowledge and recommendations were a great help - the restaurant recommendations in particular.
