Les Picardies has everything you would hope for in a French holiday stay. Beautifully restored old farmhouse in lovely surroundings. The swimming pool is an obvious plus. Our room (the twin bedded) had very comfortable beds and perfect linen and pillows. Everything was spotless.
Em and Martin are the perfect hosts, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the surroundings. Additionally Martin is a bit of a wine expert - perfect if you need advice on what to buy while you are in France.
We had the best croissants and baguette for breakfast and nice strong hot coffee.
We will definitely be back

No food on site, but you could irder pizza in advance or breakfast /bread in advance. There is a hypermarket approx 5-10 mins drive away and the "tent" we had came with sufficient facilities to self cater. The town was a short walk away with some bars / cafes, bank and some restaurants. A fish and chip shop was open Weds to Sat (not tried). The location was delightfully peaceful and right on the River Vienne. Our "tent" was small but had everything we needed including a comfy double bed and power. We were right on the river - it was delightful. The shared wash facilities were very good and at a high standard. Loos are external in a separate block but were clean. Just be prepared as a lot of French camp sites do not provide toilet paper. Would highly recommend this site.
