The city of Barcelona is great. So much shopping. Great little bars and restaurants to visit. Time out Barcelona is awesome. Las Ramblas is great. La Sagrada de Familia is a must see. The metro is very easy to figure out and get around with. We have been before .. staying at the Hilton easy to get around Barcelona on the metro .. so cheap .. a wonderful walkable city never disappoints.. First timers please only do a few sights and do them well .. unless you are staying for a week+ .. My spouse 1st trip 2 Barcelona; primarily to view La Sagrada Familia; shopping along Rambas; La Sagrada. Has progressed since my last visit 30 years ago. Visit in afternoon early evening 4 sunlight through stain glass; dining three blocks up diagonal Gaudi street away from crowds. Such a beautiful city.
Such a beautiful city. Taxis are plentiful and not too expensive. We visited Casa Batllo and Sagrada Familia and I was flown away by how beautiful they were and so interesting. If you visit these places, do get a guide, they can bring the story of each place to life. Casa Batllo use an iPad attached to ear plug to show how things looked at the time. Watch it carefully to see the great animations and effects. I would truly like to go back again to see some more of the attractions, and this was my second trip this year (the first trip we weren’t able to get into the attractions without a ticket bought in advance).
