Alexander Lodge isn't a hotel in the traditional sense. It's unique and beautiful, welcoming and comfortable, but more like a guest house. Actually, it's someone's home, with additional guestrooms that are available to guests when the owner isn't present. There isn't a reception desk, but there are very kind, helpful hosts (Abdallah & Abdelfattah; co-owners, I believe) at hand to meet the needs of their guests. We were the only guests present when we arrived; a family arrived a day or 2 later, but we only encountered them when we were relaxing in the beautiful garden. The only meals we had at the Lodge were breakfasts, and we had the dining room to ourselves. I don't know if other meals can be arranged. With a single dining table (another small table in the corner), I also don't know how multiple guests' meals would be accomodated. Really, it's a lovely place, with a beautiful separate space for watching movies, reading, or playing board games, and there's also a sauna. It's somewhat removed from the center of Siwa, about a 15-20 minute walk to the central "midan" (square), where most restaurants are located. We also easily walked to Amun's Temple and Cleopatra's Bath from the Lodge using GoogleMaps on our phones to guide us. "Tuktuks" (sort of hybrid motorcycle/wagon taxis) can also be called to get around the place, providing really bumpy rides on the mostly rutted roads of Siwa. That's how we got to the Gebel el Mawt and to Fatna's Island to watch the sunset. Abdallah and Abdelfattah will assist with arranging for any necessary transportation to get around and see the area. They are both excellent hosts. They arranged for a 4x4 car to take us out into the desert. We had a wonderful time there, and I'd happily return and stay at Alexander's Lodge (particularly now that I know what to expect).

Everything was good!
The staff was very friendly, the hotel was decorated prettily, with hammocks, etc., and I highly recommend it!
Breakfast is very good, and there is plenty of it to fill you up!
Also, at night there is a campfire and music on the speakers, which makes for a fun time!
Thank you!

I was kindly allowed to do an early check in due to the overnight travel from Cairo and was picked up from the centre.
Amany was great and very friendly but the only english speaker in Seliya.
The place is located away from town centre so it's not affected by its noise , however I didn't sleep for 2 nights in a row because of the hotel's dog barking in the internal garden.. which went on for hours in the middle of the night...
This was the big and only minus for me.
There is not much going on near the hotel but the tuk tuk to town is only 40 Egyptian each way and Amany can arrange food delivery if needed.
The place is really pretty and lots of places in the garden when you can hang out or relax, mosquitos permitting.
Would be nice to see some mosquitos traps so that the time in garden is more enjoyable.

Our time at Cafour House is the number one holiday I've had so far. As we arrived, Abdu and Nora (the owners) were helping and showed us around. Their kindness, communication and hospitality is waaay more than the expected, we really could enjoy the time here without any problem.
We had traditional egyptian breakfast, and also had lunch and dinner here for a very reasonble price. All meals were quite big portions, and tasted very well, thanks to the kitchen staff!:)
The hot spring is very nurturing, you can literally see the stars from the tub at night. One of my favourite.
The location is a bit far from the city centre, but you can experience real silence and peace here without and disturbing sounds.
The centre of Siwa city is a 15 min ride by tuktuk, for a very reasonable price. Abdu and Nora also helped us with the programmes, we tried desert safari (100%worth it) and we visited the Salt Lakes, the Cleopatra Spring, the Oracle Temple, the Amun Temple and watched the sunset on a nice spot with Hakam. He is an excellent tour guide, he knows a lot about this mysterious little city. I can fully recommend to ask him for guiding.
It's hard to summon the whole experience in one single sentence, but i'll try:
I will definitely come back:)
Greetings and hugs from 2 hungarian traveler

A beautiful green lake sits among this ocean of yellow sand, but Siwa has more than just breathtaking sceneries, it carries a culture of its own; local habitants of Siwa actually speaks their own language, which is more like the language spoken by the Berber (desert people from further west), than the Egyptian Arabic spoken in the rest of Egypt.

Visit Siwa if you are looking for history and nature. The Mountain of the dead and The Temple of the Oracle are must see sites. Take the desert safari to explore the desert, ride around sand dunes, see an oasis, visit a hot spring. Nice!

Siwa is on of hidden Gems globally, it takes 7 hours by car from Cairo the Capital, Enjoy the nature in every single thing, starting from morning, enjoy a traditional Bedouin breakfast, Safari in western desert with local guide, sand surfing, and Tea on fire, ending it up with midnight camping on middle of nowhere,
Second day, the salt lakes where it heal your skin burns or scars, do it carefully and don't put your eyes into the water, Never. Ending up in Cleopatra spring to wash up all your sins, ;)
Third day, have a round in old Siwa, enjoying Abdo Rest. eating local food and shop around for pure healthy herbs.

There is little to do here.
There is little to do here. Two mediocre archaeological sites, one spring (Cleopatra pool). Only one restaurant. The fresh water lake has no real access. The salt lake is a long drive to where you can swim in rectangular mined areas.
It might be ok for people who want to hang out in their hotel beside a pool and do nothing. Flies everywhere and bad mosquitoes at dusk and dawn.

Everyone deserves a trip to Siwa.
Everyone deserves a trip to Siwa. I know the road there and back may dissuade you but it is entirely worth your time. In fact, I would dare say you NEED to come here. Here you will experience a different culture than the hustle and bustle of Cairo and Luxor. There is plenty going on here but it is much less crowded and much more peaceful. The Siwa Salt Lakes are a must-see experience. There is something almost other-worldly in the air here, especially coming from the busy streets of more densely populated Egyptian cities. Just a few days here in the middle of your trip and you will feel ready to tackle the rest of your Egyptian cities. Missing this place and all the tuktuk rides so much!
The location, the staff, the food and the atmosphere of the place, all were beyond expectations.
I was really pleased with my experience and Cafour House is a highly recommended destination for accommodation, you will feel home there.
The natural hot spring, cold spring and salty one inside the camp are magnificent!
The owners were so friendly, helpful and supportive regarding any challenges or requirements.
Cafour House shall be my only accommodation when i plan to visit Siwa again.
This was the ideal spot for me to stay in Siwa Oasis. It’s location right in near the center of town makes everything easily accessible by foot and if you want to travel somewhere a bit off the beaten track it’s easy to hop on cheap transport right outside. The facility is clean and a great value. The owners and employees are extremely friendly and hospitable and treat all newcomers as friends. I would definitely stay here again.
An authentic hotel right in the heart of the magnificent oasis of Siwa. In spite of arriving quite early in the morning at the hotel, we were given our room to rest which was highly appreciated. We gladly extendend our stay. The owner was very helpful in providing us with information about Siwa. Best place to stay in Siwa without a doubt.
Felt like home. The owner named Ashraf was very hospitable he gave us an additional day to stay since we had a late ride back to cairo. Very calm atosphere with beautiful palm trees and nicely built rooms. Great to have a good rest. 10 minutes away from the market . Great spot to visit all the places recommended around Siwa.
Literally no words can ever describe the beauty of this place, and Moussa the manager there is a magician 😅, he recommended us many many hidden gems in Siwa, he even made us a birthday surprise party just by checking our IDs
It’s beyond amazing.
I’m grateful to go to this place!
Keep your greatness! ❤️
Everything in this hotel is wonderful. Qasr El Salam is an exceptional option. Mr. Ali and all the people that work in the hotel are really very helpful, generous and kind. I strongly recommend you to stay in Qasr El Salam when you come to Siwa. I will come back again for sure.
Ahhhh we had an amazing stay, we were treated like queens. Really we had everything we wanted for the perfect stay. Hot spring, fire, desert, sunset, sunrise, amazing music amazing host and I highly recommend doing the 4x4 desert tour. It was the highlight of siwa.
Once tourism comes back to Siwa and Alexander Lodge facilities are fully operational again, this would be a wonderful place to stay. The grounds and swimming pool are very well maintained. This is the only hotel in Siwa that has AC, swimming pool and internet.
This is probably the best stay in Siwa, for the people there.
The staff and the owner were all great friendly generous people, we were treated like a family, Mr. Helal, the owner was an exceptional personality as well as his beautiful wife.
Emad was so incredibly kind and accommodating, we had such a lovely time in Siwa because of him. The property is located downtown (7 minute walk from the bus station), but has the feel of staying in a camp which was really nice.
Magnificent experience in a great island by siwa lake, delicious breakfast, friendly host warm and clean rooms with extraordinary trips in siwa. Good for solo girls/travellers and big groups.
Amazing sunset and sunrise views
Best place to stay in Siwa by far! It's walking distance to the centre (3-5mins) and it's part of the old fortress! Definitely worth staying a night at least to check it out!
Delicious and very generous breakfast. Fantastic customer service. The hotel staff was incredible - kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Perfect location in Siwa Oasis.
