Quick gateway to the Daintree rain forest and Great Barrier Reef. The town is peaceful but big enough to get everything you need. There is no public transport but pay fee shuttle services. We hired a car and found that useful. People used push bike hire. There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops. The tour options are never ending. We did a snorkelling tour to the outer reef and a day trip to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Very nice town has lots of shops restaurant cafes and pubs, nice beach and very chill. Town centre is very walkable. We by coincidence were there for carnivale which is 2 days of celebrations, was great fun, and the place is very family friendly.

I really liked the wide variety of places to dine and all within easy walking distance. Lovely walk along the beach and up to the viewing points. Very clean and in a great location for getting to other areas of interest in that part of Queensland. It’s a great location.

We have been regulars in Port Douglas for the last twenty years the most consistent restaurants are as follows
1.Zinc
2. Salsa
3. Iron Bar
4. Gelato place called La Capenina
Most people are very friendly and accommodating and walking along 4 Mile beach is great however if you’re a family and want to see the reef don’t let the experience be soured by the expense as you do need a bit of money however

Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Snorkelling at the reef, strolling on the beaches and in the rainforest. Hartleys crocodile well worth a visit.
Lovely warm weather; easy to get around.
Roading up to Cape Tribulation still slow and some surface flooding due to heavy rainfall whilst we were there.

Location is amazing, just a short 15-20 minute car drive to the famous Mossman Gorge - DONT LEAVE PORT DOUGLAS WITHOUT GOING TO MOSSMAN GORGE - a truly great place to swim but be very, very, extremely cautious whilst in the water - the currents are very strong in some areas of the gorge.
Port Douglas is very scenic and majestic with many beautiful beaches - most of which you really cannot swim as there are signs advising caution with the possibility of crocks and marine stingers. Port Douglas has a vast range of eateries - would definitely recommend staying/visiting.
I did not expect this hotel to look so amazing… from the foyer all the way down to the pool my family and I joist walked with mouths wide open. Absolutely fantastic setting. Everything is clean and spotless. We live up here and we don’t know how they keep it so clean. This is the first time in 6 years of traveling with kids that my husband doesn’t wake up with a back pain. The bed was amazing. It’s great to see a far north property being taken care so well. It exceeded all our expectations and made my husband’s 40th birthday PERFECT
The Hotel was in close proximity to the beach and the high street of Port Douglas, everything was within walking distance.
The room was spacious and I liked the different areas; sleeping, sitting area with TV and outside balcony with chairs and table.
The room also had a kitchenette with microwave and fridge, handy for making one's own breakfast and keeping refreshments/fruits chilled.
The hotel also has a pool and recreational equipment such as bicycle to ride around town.
I highly recommend this hotel, my stay was wonderful.
The room was sparklingly clean, large, comfortable, the aircon highly efficient, with limited self-catering options, if needed, especially with the more than adequate fridge. The bathroom was roomy and towels were good quality. The room is situated in a quieter area with little passing foot traffic. Access to the resort facilities was easy and a short walk to a beach, with a short drive to the main Port Douglas beach and town centre. The option to use the bicycles provided was an added bonus.
Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful with driving instructions and port Douglas information. Excellent communication from booking to check in too which was greatly appreciated. Room was spacious and clean with fun decor. The air conditioning was already on which was thoughtful. Everything is there for free for a fabulous stay- towels, beach chairs, toys, books, games , even a Netflix account for the room! They thought of everything!
Perfect spot to explore Port Douglas and beyond. Exceptionally comfortable, well appointed with a full size kitchen, plus jumping in the pool after a long day was perfect. Loved the location, quiet but a very easy walk into town or to Four Mile Beach, especially compared to being in one of the resorts. Free parking on site and lots of info about things to see and do in the area. Would recommend and definitely stay again!
The pools are amazing, the ability to order from your sun bed with QR code was great, and the new Asian fusion restaurant that recently opened at the hotel was exceptional, the breakfast especially. The swim-up bar was everything you'd expect it to be and more. Great location if you don't mind a 25min walk into town. Buses into town available on demand made it easy if not wanting to walk or in a rush.
This resort is a value for money experience. The pool is fantastic and apartments are comfortable. Management could not be more helpful. They went out of their way to make our time in Port Douglas memorable. Would definitely recommend and will be booking there again.
Wonderful location very very close to the beach . Possibly the best location of holiday accommodation in Port Douglas .
You can view the beach and ocean from the pool area. The apartments are also a very short walk from the restaurants and shops in Macrossin St .
The Lagoon pool, gardens and swim out is fantastic. We have stayed at this resort before and this is why we returned. On our previous trip we stayed in a hotel room and it was spotless and comfortable. This time I mistakenly booked a privately owned apartment.
Amanda and Peter were very friendly and welcoming .They gave us lots of tips about what to do around Port Douglas. The apartments are in a great location , just a short stroll to all the restaurants and bars.
The apartment was exactly as the photos.
Location is perfect, walking distance to everything in Port Douglas. Bec the host is amazing, offering suggestions of places to eat and things to do.
Comfort level of the house. The location was close to Port Douglas but also just outside the town so lovely and quiet. The house was spacious and also had very good wifi and air con.
The hotel was in a great location. Overpriced for what it was but it was safe, had everything you need for a stay in Port Douglas, and offered day-trips which I used.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff were also very friendly. Highly recommend to those who will be travelling to Port Douglas, in a great location!
