The included breakfast was delicious and we had all the amenities we needed. Well worth the price and experience away from a chain hotel. The setting is so green, relaxing and warm. We slept so well as it was so quiet. Highly recommend you stay here if you are planning to hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - Dani can organise a direct shuttle to/from the track for you.

What truly took our experience to the next level, however, was the surprise addition of a Weber grill. This top-notch grill became the centerpiece of our evening gatherings, allowing us to cook up some incredibly delicious dinners. The quality of the grill ensured that every meal was cooked to perfection, adding a special touch to our stay that we hadn't anticipated. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness in providing such a high-quality grill for guests' use really stands out. It's not just about the accommodation itself, but also about creating memorable experiences, and in this case, they succeeded wonderfully. Overall, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you're looking for a comfortable and memorable stay with the added bonus of being able to enjoy fantastic grilled meals, this is the place for you. Set in Ohakune in the Manawatu region, Kotiri Chalet is a modern chalet featuring a patio. This chalet also provides guests with free WiFi. Everything we needed. Comfortable spacious house. We stayed for 2 night over New Year, good location for the Tongariro Crossing and also the Carrot play ground. near to shops, places to eat but also had good utensils, dishes, cooking facilities to make a meal at home. Mountain can be seen from the front garden and you can sit outside at the back and watch the birds in the trees by the stream.

Loved the pool table, board games, hot tub, fully stocked kitchen, piano -- wish we could've stayed longer. Having the wood stove burning for us when we arrived was a nice touch.
