Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. The staff of Iroriyado Hidaya was exceptionally friendly and helpful, also with regard to our kids; their genuine kindness and hospitality is a memory we will treasure. Using the traditional clothing and onsen was also a one of a kind experience. With our rental car the ryokan was a good exploration base for the surrounding area. And there is a really good authentic restaurant around the corner. If we got a chance in the future we would definitely come again!

46 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, WAY SHIRAKAWAGO - Private, Free Parking and Newly Opened 2022 WAY SHIRAKAWAGO is a recently renovated property set in Shirakawa and offers air-conditioned... Very very very nice owners! They left lots of food in the room, with curry rice for all the guests + lots for breakfast (because there are very little restaurants in the night). The futons were very comfortable, and it was probably the nicest stay of the trip! We really appreciate the interaction we had with the owner's family at Takayama, thank you so much for making our trip special!

Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 24 km from Ōi, as well as 24 km from Enakyo Wonderland. I loved everything about this place. Absolutely the highlight of my trip. And funny enough, there was no other guests so I had the whole place to myself! The town is very cute and the house is just incredible. It had everything a person could ask for in an accommodation. Everything works perfectly. The design is very beautiful. The house is even more beautiful in real life. I will never forget it. I think I told Assi how much I loved it too many times :) Assi was the most helpful host, he was very friendly, curious to know about my trip, he even picked me up from the station when I unfortunately missed the train. And dropped me off to the bus stop when I wanted to visit the near village. I hope to visit it again in future. Thank you again, thank you very much.

Offering a shared lounge and quiet street view, Toraya is set in Gero, 48 km from Takayama Station and 49 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. It was quiet and very clean. The staff was helpful. We booked a private bath which was very enjoyable - a nice introduction to onsens!

Offering quiet street views and a shared lounge, Guest House Motomiya is set in the Magome district of Nakatsugawa, 20 km from Enakyo Wonderland and 40 km from Japan Taisho Village. Keiko is an excellent cook, turning out elaborate and delicious meals. The location was a great base for the hike from Magome to Tsumago.

Featuring mountain views, Guest House Hinode offers accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a shared lounge, around 2.6 km from Takayama Station. The owner was a very nice person. The house is 20-25 minutes walking distance from everywhere to see. There are supermarkets right near the house. The room is very comfortable, the living room is very pleasant. There is everything you may need in the kitchen. Everywhere in the house is spotlessly clean. We loved both the house and the owner very much. Thank you for everything. Hope to see you again

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland. I stayed in the futon room with mountain views. Waking up early and watching the sun rise over Mount Ena was definitely a highlight of my trip.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Guesthouse Gifu SUAI is situated in Gifu, 29 km from Nagoya Castle and 30 km from Nagoya Station. Really great hosts. Cute animals too :) -Sandro

Built in 2018, Itomori is located a 7-minute walk form JR Takayama Station. The old town of Takayama is 6 minutes on foot, while Takayama Jinya is a 10-minute stroll. Excellent location, close to everything but still quiet. Beds were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well.
