The view. The cleanliness. The value for money. The staff. Almost everything. I stayed there for 2 weeks last February. I liked the hotel a lot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hashan the owner treated us as his own guests. He is very generous and hospitable. The food was very delicious and authentic. Haputale is very calm place and less touristy than Ella. I loved it more than Ella. It is surrounded by tea plantations, and very ery close to Horton Plains and Lipton’s seat. The hotel arranged trips for us to those places and to Udawalawe National Park. The roads around the hotel are great for trekking.

We found this place by chance while looking for lodging on a stopover near Ella. It was the best surprise. We could have stayed here for days. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life! This place has the most amazing positive energy - from the warmth of the welcome to the number of birds that come to the feeder outside the bedroom window. The breakfasts were delicious and could be tailored to suit individuals; the dinners likewise. Sameera turned out to be an excellent guide and knowledgeable about the locale and nature. My massage was great and much needed after a hike ducking branches and hopping over logs. Lots more activities were on offer but my stay was too short to take up beekeeping, for example.
