Set in the same building as AMFI Alta Shopping Centre, Thon Hotel Alta offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with a cable TV and minibar. Alta Bus Station is located right next to the hotel. The breakfast was great. It had something for everyone. Plenty of choices including fresh fruit. The hot breakfast items were kept fresh and hot. The hours of operation were perfect for getting food before heading out to see the city.

We arrived quite late in the evening, the reception was open and the lady who greeted us was super friendly. Our room was clean and looked like on the photos. The cabin had 4 rooms and two shared bathrooms. Shared kitchen and shower rooms were in a separate building a few steps away from our cabin. Kitchen was spacious and clean. Showers had warm water and were clean.

If you want peace and quiet and a lovely view of the Altafjord - then this small family hotel is perfect for you! I was alone....though my room did not face the lake but it was still very nice. It had two open areas with comfy sofas and two massage chairs which I used a lot. The breakfast was amazing. The views were incredible. The fact that you can always have tea , coffee and a biscuits on no charge was really nice. It was only 20 mins walk from centrum which had amazing views. The gold explorer for the northern light do a pick up directly from the house Both ladies at the reception was very sweet.
