Claregalway Hotel is situated just outside of Galway in Claregalway village. It has a restaurant, a leisure centre with a gym and pool, and spacious air-conditioned rooms. A great stop over for my trip..nice to be pampered a bit.

On the shores of Killary Harbour lies Ireland's oldest coaching inn. Dating from 1796, you'll find traditional home cooking, antique furniture and the most spectacular views in Ireland. Nice, quiet location. Although located at the road, no traffic at all during night. Good breakfast.

The Shearwater Hotel is just 20 minutes' drive from Athlone and a 50-minute car journey from Galway. It is close to the marina and the River Suck. Excellent and helpful front desk staff. Friendly employees everywhere else in the hotel.
