Tugela River Lodge er staðsett við bakka Tugela-árinnar, 22 km norður af Winterton og býður upp á gistirými með eldunaraðstöðu, 13 km frá Spioenkop-friðlandinu og 22 km frá Winterton-safninu. Great for dog. Beautiful view. Kayaking was relaxing. Walk along river was pleasant.

A little piece of paradise, everything 5 star standard. Wouldn't change a thing. Tranquility at its best! Rooms clean, food superb, and staff friendly. Beautiful hikes, horse riding, fishing.... Loved the fact it was exclusive and not loads of people. Need to spend a week there next time!

Montusi Mountain Lodge offers a bar and is located 44 km from Bergville. Guests receive free Wi-Fi access, a children's playground and a swimming pool. Montusi Lodge will always be among the most special places we have ever visited. The grounds are gorgeous and location stunning - remote, with birdsong, epic views towards the Drakensberg amphitheatre and spectacular skies. The food is superb with a daily changing menu and we looked forward to 4 course dinners each evening (and the wine list!). We stayed 5 nights and hiked every day. Before we got there, Dumisani was super helpful with pre-organising transfers to the Royal Natal National Park (about 25km) which has fabulous hiking. Shorter self-guided trails can also be done on the Montusi estate, right from the lodge. A really impressive operation for such a remote location and hosts Lindsey & Mick and their lovely team are to be congratulated. Thanks for making us so welcome and accommodating our thirst for the great outdoors!

Every detail was thought of. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and the whole property is beautiful.

Three Tree Hill Lodge is located pretty far away from the city where I stayed while in 🇿🇦, though 5 hours on a car were worth it. Vast amount of space for hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. The place is beautiful and full of various plants. Being situated on a farm all the food is home made and is prepared for your choosing from a list. I really fell in love with the view from Churchill’s lodge and the lodge itself was amazing. Despite being made in an old style I found it a nice thing to get away from modern design for 2 days. The service was great as well: they offer coffee, tea, lemonade throughout the day and three meals per day which I found decent. Also would like to say that people there are very friendly: if something bothers you they will help and if you just want to have a conversation you will definitely have a great one! They also accept banking cards there (ApplePay works as well, which was great because I didn’t take any cards with me😂)
