Octant Douro is set in the southern margin of the Douro River, km 41 of the N222 road. It is 10 km from the centre of Castelo de Paiva, 40 km from Porto, 60 km from Porto International Airport and 160 km from the Spanish border. It was all in the details: the most wonderful stay. My only regret is not staying longer.

With its own orchard and vineyard, this 4-star hotel is situated 800 metres from Lamego’s centre.

Guests at the Lamego can also savour the local cuisine for lunch and dinner.

At Barrilario Douro Wine Hotel e Spa - Quinta São Jose do Barrilario guests are welcome to take advantage of a Turkish bath. It was clean, comfortable, the staff were very helpful, and welcoming! We had beautiful breakfast in the mornings, and couple of dinners in their restaurant.

The place is perfect to disconnect and be surrounded by nature. Ana from the staff was amazing, very thoughtful and open to help. For sure will be a place to come back again.

There is a private entrance at the farm stay for the convenience of those who stay. Free WiFi is available throughout the property, as well as a terrace and a restaurant. The property also offers accommodation for disabled guests. The owners were so lovely and accommodating. We truly wish we stayed longer. The hotel is picturesque and extremely relaxing!

Situated in Tabosa, 46 km from Our Lady of Remedies Sanctuary and 50 km from Mangualde Live Artificial Beach, Casas de Campo da Barroca features accommodation with free WiFi, a garden, mountain views, and access to a sauna and a hot tub. With garden views, this accommodation provides a patio. The country house has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. This pace is beautiful. It is very peaceful, the staff are attentive. The beds were super comfortable. There is everything in the kitchen you need to create a lovely meal. This was very welcome after weeks of travelling I enjoyed being able to prepare delicious food for my family.

You hear the birds, you see birds flying, you hear the river. The swimming pool is amazing. The water was a perfect temperature to refresh without being too cold. This is a perfect getaway from city life. The hosts are so welcoming and eager to help. They encourage guests to ask for what they need and they are extremely accommodating. For instance, we had the privilege to choose our room and during breakfast they asked us if we wanted eggs made in any way we liked.

Lavandeira Douro Nature & Wellness also provides an indoor pool and a sauna for guests to relax in. The area is popular for hiking, and bike hire is available at the accommodation. Guests can participate in the farm’s activities. Those looking for relaxation can use the hot tub overlooking the valley. Indulge yourself with the variety of therapies available at the Spa. There are events rooms available. My partner and I were lucky to have the entire hotel and spa for ourselves before a big holiday weekend. The staff is so lovely and made us feel so welcome at at home. The spa was cozy with a sauna, hot jacuzzi and turkish bath, and the staff even filled the entire spa with candles for us. The outdoor pool was cold and perfect for cold dips in the rain (strongly recommend this!). After the spa we had a 3-course dinner with delicious homemade dishes and local wine. The restaurant is like a restaurant / living room with a little bar, pool table, fire place, sofas etc. The facilities were great, we really loved this. Our room was beautiful and with a balcony facing the greenery outside, and you could even hear the stream. To finish off our stay we got an amazing big breakfast, just for the two of us! We really got a 5* treatment here. Loved the location near to Lamego, and yet in a calm place on the countryside. Thank you so much, we will be back!
