Modern interior, clean room, friendly staff and private underground parking. On top of all that the place is dog friendly. For my personal needs this checks all the boxes. There is a coffe machine in the room for an espresso in the morning and a tea kettle. Additionally a tap and glass bottle to refill free filtered cold water in the hallway. (even sparkling) Check in/check out was quick and easy.

The food is outstanding and I truly enjoyed the breakfast. Everything exceeded our expectations.

Villa Athena, a modern 5-star hotel, is located within Agrigento's Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The venue has a private access to Valle dei Templi leading through the magnificent area of olive trees and green hills. Room and bathroom was well equipped (Dyson hair dryer, Ortigia cosmetics). Staff is wonderful. We had a lovely time.

You order the evening before and it gets delivered to your room the next morning. Great selection and cooked and presented very nicely. we ordered eggs (hard boiled, scrambled), delicious pastries, cereal, cappuccinos, juices etc. The owner/host is so personable and welcoming. The rooms are absolutely stunning with high ceilings, mix of original brick and stunning white oak. Iron metal touches on the staircase and huge windows. We stayed in the loft suite and it was heavenly.

Pamela and Paolo were great hosts. The Villa is stunning. The amenities superb. It is close to the action in Syracuse (for me seeing the UNESCO sites) but far enough that you don't feel like you are in the city. There is an indoor pool, sauna and Turkish bath right now. Outdoor pool almost ready for water to be added. Parking is free and onsite. Easy access to grocery stores too. The Villa has a full kitchen with a big fridge that guests can use as well as a small one in the room.

We got excellent recommendations for a dinner venue and breakfast location - the breakfast place even made it onto a german TV documentary about the best Pistacchios.
