Very modern, clean, elegant house in a small residential area. It was warm and comfortable. Instructions for entry (using a key lockbox) were sent well in advance, and were very clear. Hosts responded promptly to messages via messaging app (use translate app to translate from Japanese, and use simple language when messaging). Perfect location for visiting local attractions by car. Shirakawa-go 40km, lets you arrive early to avoid crowds and massive tail backs (worth it). Hida-no-Sato just down the road. Takayama is a very interesting and friendly town.

Hotel exceptional, well located in a quiet place, relatively close from places like the Kamikochi Valley or the Shinhotaka Ropeway. The rooms are very spacious, very clean and equipped with everything you could need. Nice view on a waterfall. The Kimonos will allow you to directly go to wonderful onsens in the hotel (one outside is reserved for mixed gender and will allow you to enjoy this incredible pleasure with your partner. Very good breakfast and diner. Finally I'd like to highlight the kindness and the helpfulness of all the hotel employees,particularly one who's name is Junya Ishida. We sadly had some issues with our car, and believe me, without speaking japanese, difficult to contact the rental car company and explain the problem and what to do. Junya , employee in this hotel, proposed to help us and spent almost 3 hours to contact the rental company, the road assistance,etc... and expose them the situation. Thanks again to him and all the employees of the Okuhida Garden Hotel.

Everything was nice I couldn't ask for more. Room fit for even 4 persons, the location was good we could walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and also to Takayama Station easily. Looking forward to revisiting :)

The location is quiet and comfortable to reach by train, the breakfast was really good as well as the staff service, the room has a nice smell of traditional tatami mats, there's even the possibility to book a private bath! Really great accomodation
