I wanted to stay another night because a boat tour had to reschedule due to the weather. The host apologized and told me it was already booked. Then, she contacted me about another property that was very similar and comparable in price due to her connections. She went above and beyond trying to make my great stay the best it could be.

Great breakfast on the roof top terrace with homemade marmelade and a fantastic view over the city. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Centrally located in a side street with short walks to the beaches, the market and sights. Very recommendable!

Set on the beachfront, this property has a garden and a shared lounge. The bed and breakfast offers garden views, a picnic area and a 24-hour front desk. The property is outstanding, luxurious, comfortable, and has every amenity, including a washing machine! The proprietor, Davide, is incredibly accommodating and helpful. Only three guest rooms so very intimate. There is a kitchen/dining area with treats and drinks available 24/7. You could even cook if so inclined. But there is a terrific local pizzeria steps away so definitely no need to do so. Rooftop and loungers around the pool for sunning. If you have a car, transportation is particularly easy and you are centrally located for day trips to Etna, Taormina, Siracusa, Catania, beaches, and more. Be sure to reserve one of the parking spaces inside the gate.

I came to see the Carrivaggio at the museum, it’s a good 30 min walk but pretty easy, with a nice wee beach just close to museum. It’s less than 10min walk from train station, try via Etna for morning coffee and pastry. Gran caffe was my favourite one. There are lots of Roman sites to visit and the photo is from amphitheater just 5 min walk away
