The best thing about Portland are the family members who live there; they are the reason for our visit.
We do enjoy going to many sites in Portland including the various gardens: Rose Garden, Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, Pennisula Garden, Rhodendron Garden, and just walking around neighborhoods seeing the beautiful trees and plants. Powell's Bookstore is a must. We went to a Thorn's (women's Pro soccer team) game. It was exciting. There are many good food options in Portland. We like the zoo and of course there are many sites nearby to visit including a plethora of "falls" like Multinoma and Bridal Veil.
The beauty of the city is blighted by homeless camps which lead to much litter, etc.

Portland, you're a breath of fresh air, reminiscent of my beloved Calgary with your mellow pace of life. Yet, you offer a gentle winter, free from the icy grip that defines our seasons. Your embrace of the LGBTQ community and the effortless kindness of your residents have been a revelation, challenging the media's portrayal with a beautiful reality. A heartfelt shoutout to Moxy Portland Downtown for their uniquely fabulous vibe and warm hospitality. You've been the highlight of our journey. As we conclude our road trip across the US Pacific Northwest, it's clear—Portland, you're the perfect finale. 🌲✨

We enjoyed the area around our hotel, very much.
We enjoyed the area around our hotel, very much. It was the Northwest section of Portland. It was by Old Town and by China Town. It was also close to the waterway path, along the River. It felt safe. It felt up-lifting.

I enjoyed the city however do not recommend walking at night downtown. The Ghost tour was not worth the time however the restaurants and food trucks were amazing. Highly recommend Hawthorne Asylum Food Cart Pod and the Japanese Gardens.

Enjoyed the nature and greenery.
Enjoyed the nature and greenery. Went to Providence Park for Timbers soccer match and would highly recommend. I liked Washington Park with the Japanese Gardens and Rose Test Gardens. Liked walking around Powell's Books. Really enjoyed walking around NW District neighborhood, and eating at Sweet Bacon Cafe and Scottie's Pizza Parlor. Recommend staying at Inn at Northrup Station in NW District or the Tiny Digs Hotels in Kerns neighborhood in East Portland. Enjoyed Screen Door restaurant at East Portland. Trail Blazers Basketball game at Moda Center was fine.
There is a lot of homeless and possible drug use around downtown Pearl District. Never felt threatened or in danger but definitely need to be cautious.

I came up for the afternoon to look at an item I may purchase. Portland is a pretty area, but I did not take in any of the sites: no time to.
If you have to stay over night AVOID the
airport Shilo Inn!!
such great staff and delicious breakfast. Mike catered to my allergy needs happily and squeezed fresh orange juice for the diners. the front desk came outside to find me when I couldn’t find the parking garage entrance and led me in. the room and hotel in general were nice and quiet, got a great nights sleep. rooms were nicely appointed and super clean. convenient bus stop right outside to go wherever you want in downtown Portland. also not too many sketchy people around like other parts of Portland these days.
The hotel is lovely (super comfy beds and cozy rooms!) with a beautiful interior with periodic character, and we had a wonderful time there. The location is perfect for a short stay in Portland, and offers a valet service for those with a car. We stayed there as part of our honeymoon trip back in October and received best in class service from the Hotel Manager, Mr. Jean Marc and his team.
I’ve been staying/working at hostels since 2011, and this is by far the best one I’ve ever been to. The real state is amazing, super clean, new and comfortable. The location is fantastic, close to downtown and the neighborhood feels very safe. The staff is very friendly and really do their best to help you out. Whenever I go back to Portland, I won’t even consider staying anywhere else.
Good location if you’re looking to get away from the busyness of Downtown/Pearl District but still close enough to get anywhere you’re looking to go. Everyone working was super nice and the space is just lovely. Very comfortable room with lots of snacks/drinks at the ready and room service for anything else you might want. Lovely little coffee shop for those morning cravings.
Dougan Suites is located 3 mi from my destination site.public transportation very accessible. Very short distance from downtown Portland - 10 minutes from PDX. The Blue Room is a 3 room suite well designed. The interior was furnished in a welcoming fashion. So comfortable I could live in the suite as a home.
Bridgette and Andre’ are wonderful people
Very beautiful hotel in Downtown Portland. Clean and secure. Walking distance to waterfront and pioneer place. Loved to pool, hot tub and sauna! Gym was pretty spacious and well maintained equipment. Hot breakfast in the morning with made to order omelets!!!! Evening happy hour reception too! Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful property located right downtown Portland. Beautifully furnished room, with comfortable bed, big tv screen, full of amenities and very spacious. Big bathroom as well with both shower and bath tub. Breakfast was not included but it was really good and fairly priced at the Taverna down the hotel.
Beautiful old hotel in a brilliant location.
Lovely and attentive staff, huge room with comfortable beds and furnishings. Several divers food options around the corner and downtown Portland at your doorstep.
I loved it so much I booked a weekend for my brother and sister in law a couple weeks later.
Located in more of the business district, the this hotel is between much of the downtown restaurants and stores and the pedestrian bridge across the river. It is a good location to see all of Portland. We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and modern - as you should expect from a Hilton hotel.
The property offers a secured garage for parking that’s cheaper than what other hotels in the area offer. The location is close to a lot of downtown restaurants and bars, and farther away from areas with a large homeless problem. The bathroom was nice, and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Nice, slightly dated hotel but stylishly refurbished inside. It's only a block from the MAX (tram line from the airport) and just on the edge of the downtown area so there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
We had a good view of the river and the room was a reasonable size.
Spacious, fun room in a lovely part of the city. Most hotels are downtown and we liked the Northrupp area much better (great shopping, dining, cafes etc). We got lucky and had a room on the top floor. Free parking and free Tram tickets per person and day are a great extra.
The room was small but clean. The shower was very nice. The breakfast was substantial and the coffee unlimited. The location was in the Pearl district which is downtown Portland, but right behind the building, is tent city which makes for unsafe walking and exploring.
There is no restaurant at the Hotel.
I liked having a beer during craft beer hour.
Close to the things I wanted to do; I walked nearly everywhere.
Great staff.
A hip and cool place without being hipster.
Easy walk to Red Line to access the Portland Airport.
Very nice hotel with amazing staff. We really liked the hotel, unfortunatelly Portland (or the area around hotel at least) feels really run-down now. Hardly to blame the hotel of course, the employees made their best so that the guests feel well here.
The staff at front desk were brilliant and welcoming. Good beds, good restaurant and gym facilities along with good laundry facilities. Not right downtown however trolley close by and they offer a shuttle from the hotel.
I love everything about this hotel. The receptionists are friendly and helpful. The view and location are excellent. It's easy to walk any where around downtown. I will be back
in my next visit in Portland.
My wife and booked this hotel because we were in town for a Portland trail blazers game then we took the max downtown and explored and had a great breakfast at mothers bar and grill
