One of the gateways to Patagonia, less than 2 hours drive from Hosteria Pehoe. Direct flight from Santiago, everything is convenient, except there is no car rental place at airport. But it is only a 10 min taxi ride to town.

I chose Puerto Natales because it has an airport close to Torres del Paine.
I did four excursions to view the outdoor beauty of southern Chile.
I walked to the bus station to acquire information ... I was pleasantly surprised that a bus can take me futher south, near the tip of South Amarica.

Puerto Natales is a very cool town.
Puerto Natales is a very cool town. We stayed in the park for 2-3 nights and in Puerto Natales for 1 prior to a flight early in the AM. We enjoyed walking through town and had EXCELLENT food at La Disqueria!! It seemed like there were MANY options to stay in PN and travel into TDP - which would be much more cost-efficient than staying in the park! A great city!

There isn’t a whole lot to do in the town itself, you can probably see everything in one day, and the weather is unpredictable even in the summer. It’s walkable and there are some cool shops and restaurants that largely cater to tourists. Most people come here because they are going to hike or tour Torres Del Paine, to see the glaciers, or both, and they don’t want to spend $500 USD or more per night to stay in the park. Figure out how many excursions you want to do, and give yourself an extra day to check out the town.

Puerto Natales is an easily navigated small town and a good jumping off point for tours and trips to Torres del Paine, one of Chile's most famous national parks and hiking trails, as well as for catamaran tours to see the glaciers. The town is equipped with a number of good restaurants, outdoor/sports stores and supermarkets, making it a good place to stop before and/or after excursions. It has a beautiful waterfront. It is cool year round, cold in the winter, keep in mind this region of Chile includes Antarctica so you should always be prepared for wind and cold, although we did have a few relatively warm afternoons.

This is a launching point for treks, adventure hikes, wilderness kayaking trips, etc. During the season, it's crowded with tourists in transit and usually here just for a night or two as they embark or return from an excursion to nearby Torres del Paine, or other areas of nature to explore. It feels like the bulk of the restaurants, shops and stores therefore cater to the needs of monied tourists and so it's expensive.
The couple who owns and operates this hostel are SO lovely and made me feel right at home. They were incredibly accommodating and answered all of our questions about Puerto Natales. They even stored my laptop and spare clothes while my mom and I hiked the O-Trek. They make a great breakfast! The rooms are basic, but that's exactly what you expect at a hostel, and the beds were really comfy. I slept like the dead! The hostel is also a short walk from the grocery store and the bus station, which was super convenient for us.
The staff at this hostel are amazing! They are all constantly helping travelers navigate the confusing landscape that is traveling through Patagonia since theres so little good information online. They speak English and Spanish and greeted me by name whenever I came in. They were fully booked, but they managed to find space for me to stay an extra two days when I didn't have a place to go. They even came up to thank me for staying there on my last night. They made my trip to Puerto Natales!
Beautiful large room and bathroom, tasteful and thoughtfully designed. Lovely sunset view from bed. Good breakfast. It's more like an airbnb than a proper hotel. Friendly husband and wife owners. Taxi from downtown costs 5000 clp. Common area where you have breakfast or drinks is big and beautifully designed too. 10 minutes from airport. Easy parking on premises. Highly recommended unless you want to stay walking distance to the sea and downtown. Husband is a fly fishing guide too.
Super friendly staff and well organized. The hotel looked good and was spacious enough for two people. The heating worked perfect and the shower had warm water. The beds were a bit to soft but of a good size. There was a small desk that we used to put our bags on so we could walk in the room. We were able to leave some of our luggage behind (for free) because we were going on the W track in Chile and did not want to bring everything. They kept it in a closed room.
This was a great apartment for our stay in puerto natales, we stayed both before and after completing the o trek. We really liked the facilities, space and location - the kitchen so we could cook, the washing machine so we could clean our gear, and the large kitchen/diner area separate from the bedroom. The location is also great, really close to the bus station but also walking distance to the high street
During my stay in Puerto Natales/W-Trek Origines became my home base. I have stayed there a couple of time and I was always happy to come back "home" - the hotel manager was super open, friendly and had supported me in a couple of occastions; she is the heart of Origines. I would always go back. Location is practical since it is in between the main bus station and the center.
This is a extremely great value for Puerto Natales. This is not a luxury hotel but this is an excellent accommodation at this value point. The hotel facilities are all pristine and immaculately cleaned. Breakfast is spartan but filling. The staff/owner are helpful but don't expect any handholding. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend anyone to stay here as well.
Great great place to stay in Puerto Natales. The staff is super helpful, the dorms clean and cosy, the showers hot, kitchen perfect to cook and have meals, location super practical between the bus station and city center. The breakfast starting at 5 is ideal before leaving for the park. Free storage during the trek is the cherry on the cake. Thanks for everything!
Small boutique design hotel nestled in a field by itself overlooking the lake. Exceptional beauty. Large warm spacious rooms with amazing views. Family owed, exceptionally friendly, professional service with great small restaurant. Tasteful, simple type design, no frivolous stuff. Outside Puerto Natales by road that takes you to Torres de Paine.
Jose and Claudio and other staff were very helpful during our stay. Nice recommendations for restaurants nearby. Filling of forms to buy park tickets and help with rentals are just a few things to mention that they helped us with.
And we didn't have a travel adapter for Chile and they let us borrow it during our trip to the park.
Nice, clean comfortable room and very pleasant, helpful owners. A great location too. If you're looking for a hostel in Puerto Natales this one is recommended. My wife had never stayed in a hostel before and was trepidacious but this one convinced her that hostels can be a great way to travel.
We like this place because it's quiet and not too far from Puerto Natales. The room was simple and clean, with no TV, but very airy and featuring a big glass window offering a great view. The staff was friendly, and checking in and out was quick and simple.
The room was very clean, beds comfortable, the hotel itself was very unique and cool with its layout and art of the native Chileans. We were only there for 1 quick night and didn't get to eat breakfast but everything there was great
The architecture of the hotel is exceptional and takes full benefit of the view the location has on the bay of Puerto Natales. The rooms are nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay in this nice little hotel.
what an amazing place. I think it’s the best place in Puerto Natales after staying in a few top hotels in the area. interior design is outstanding, service is superb. highly recommend it!
Nice modern clean hotel in a good location at the heart of Puerto Natales. Great rooftap bar with view of the town and nearby river. Staff were very accommodating
We really enjoyed our stay in this place. Beautiful apartment near restaurants and coffee shops. Walking distance to the shore. We really love Puerto Natales.
