We didn’t have breakfast. We requested a tea towel so we could fry our cups but apparently there weren’t any available. The tower we were in had issues with the pool door which meant we couldn’t get back in to our tower. There was no sign on the door as you exited so didn’t realise until we tried to get back in. Then there was no signage to say where to enter through tower 2 and then we had to go completely outside to return to our tower and room.

Cairns was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Australia.
Cairns was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Australia. We loved the beautiful natural beauty it offers and the convenience as a base point to snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef, ride the gondola to Kuranda Village and hike Daintree Rainforest. Mossman Gorge and the gondola stop within the Daintree Rainforest is jaw-dropping when you see the trees, plants and fauna.
Park rangers, hotel staff, and even shuttle bus drivers were very friendly and accommodating, especially the people at Visions Apartment on the esplanade. There were lots of restaurants and shopping around the esplanade. Lots of activities for multi-generational group of ours.
We rented a car last minute from a local family-run rental, who brought the car to our hotel. Very friendly and convenient! We were a bit nervous driving on the left side of the road, but turned out to be an easy drive to Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas. We hiked the well-marked trails and learned about the local Aborigines culture in Mossman then stopped in Port Douglas to see wild cockatoos, fox bats and had great ice cream in the small town. We loved everything about Cairns and even though there were rain storms during our trip in May, it was a nature-lovers dream!

Cairns is a fantastic little city that is a gateway to some of Australia's beautiful natural sights. There are many tours on offer from Cairns to see the Daintree Rainforest or the Great Barrier Reef. The nightlife is good and there are plenty of restaurants and bars to refuel after big days of activities.

Cairns is both a hub of activity and a gateway to adventures within a few hours of travel.
It has an ambient climate with all the services and culture you’d expect of a much bigger city. There is so much to do in cairns and the public transport system is both convenient and well run.
There are so many adventures to be had on the Great Barrier Reef, Green Island and Fitzroy Island. Mission Beach, The Atherton Tablelands and The Daintree are all a day trip from Cairns.

Positive: Skyrail and historic train, nature, pool in Cairns, boardwalk, Botanical Gardens (absolute highlight!!!). Don't miss Emerald Creek Ice Creamery - lots of varieties and very yummy! Dundee's restaurant offered outstanding food and an incredible venue with a massive fish tank to look at while dining, it's pricey, but worth it. The Daintree is as exciting as ever. Solar Whisper Croc Cruise was really good. Daytrip to Atherton Tablelands was lovely. Rusty's market is a must! Only downside of Cairns: dining is fairly expensive in general.

We went at the start of the dry season.
We went at the start of the dry season. The weather was very warm but still humid.
Cairns central has great public facilities.
The swimming lagoon is fantastic for all ages and has surf lifesavers in attendance. BBQ cookers all along the Esplanade, excellent playgrounds.
Muddy Waters in particular, the kids went crazy.
Of course you go for the reef trips and the train trip and the Skyrail up to Kuranda village. A lovely day out in beautiful rainforest.
Port Douglas and Mossman are a drive north if you have the time, they are another must see in this scenic part of north Queensland.
A drive up onto the Tablelands opens up a different part of the area. Natural and historical attractions. It's worth the drive.
the property was great! Check in was quick and simple and the staff were friendly. We had a superior room and it was lovely, nice little view of the Cairns Esplanade and water. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We only stayed as an added overnight stay before our flight as our flights were changed and we are glad we booked with pacific hotel cairns for the quick stop over. We had our 4 month old baby and the staff were wonderful and had a portacot ready for us in our room.
Mad monkey hostel in Cairns has more than 2 property just need to be careful and double check the address before book an Uber from the airport. Stay there for 4 nights in private room which is very good clean and very quiet plus in the room have a TV with free Netflix that such a bonus! Use room key from application is very convenient but would be a bit complicated for elder people but overall I like everything the hostel has offered!!
The location is ok, close to the city. We hired a car, it's easier in Cairns if you want to explore all the beauties that the region is offering. We had an apartment which was ok, we had the chance to wash our clothes and to cook some meals (which is not bad if you travel for 40 days). We had to spend some times in the apartment, due to heavy rain and floods. likely the hotel is not situated next to rivers. The staff is super kind.
Excellent stay at oaks Cairns. The location was perfect - right across from the esplanade pool and very close to the reef terminal, lots of places to eat nearby to! The rooftop bar was a stunning place to have a coffee while watching the sunrise over the coral sea! Staff were wonderful, I had to make a few changes to my stay and they were always very helpful. The shower was probably the best ever I’ve had in a hotel!
The staff were really friendly and very attentive. I was able to check in early which was a nice touch. The rooms are big but cosy and the bath is a great touch. Everything is really clean and the beds are really comfy. You're close to everything and on this particular stay, I received drinks and casino coupons. I've stayed at most of the hotels in cairns and can say the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino is by far the best.
Older style but very clean and comfortable with good instructions for late night entry. Close proximity to the Cairns Esplanade and some lovely coffee shops for breakfast. Arrived after midnight on a late flight - this hotel is one of the closest to the airport - only $19 for taxi. Hotel cost just over $100, a real bargain, given an unexpected overnight stop thanks to Jetstar changes to an international flight.
Love the Location of this hotel right in the centre just 5 mins walk to the esplanade, cafes and woolies.
The manager Peter was very kind and helping. Booked us our very early morning taxi for the airport. ..very helpful person, great knowledge of the City.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable.
Will visit again.
Well-equipped room, with kitchenette and in-room laundry facilities. The room was very quiet, and the hotel is located on the fringe of the CBD. Esplanade, Cairns Central and CBD shopping and dining are all within easy walking distance. The room was very clean, and the staff knowledgeable and helpful.
Loved the 3 pools, the balcony overlooking the pool was a great view. The apartments were a 15 minute walk to the Esplanade however that wasn't an issue, we could Ubers if we didn't want to walk that distance. Very close to Cairns Central shopping centre and great value. I would stay again.
The hotel is very beautiful, with two enormous pools. It has also a very nice garden, and a guest room which is very handy if you, like me, wake up too early and does not want to wake up other people in you room. Finally, the price is much better than most hotels in Cairns, it's amazing value.
Staff were very friendly and efficient during check-in and check-out. The room was larger than other similar priced hotels in Cairns, and the balcony was spacious. The location was an easy walking distance to many popular Cairns restaurants and bars and our room had views to the Esplanade.
The location of the hotel was excellent, walking distance to everything in Cairns. The view of the river and hills beyond was great and made sitting on the balcony a must. The buffet breakfast was good as they changed the options everyday so it was not just the same each morning.
Location was convenient to the Esplanade and the airport. Room was spacious, comfortable and airconditioned with a sink, fridge and table and chairs. Onsite cafe was reasonably priced and convenient, unlike many restaurants in Cairns that are just expensive tourist traps.
Location was great short walk to shops and esplanade, clean everything you need.Great wifi included in out price. Better than staying in a hotel room we could self cater. Apartment felt welcoming.
Jackie is a very nice and friendly host. She takes care of your comfort and does everything to address your expectations. Highly recommend to book this apartment for everyone traveling to Cairns.
Great location, opposite Cairns central, walking distance to Rusty's markets and easy flat walk to Esplanade. Plenty of room in apartment for family to spread out
