Room was very clean, the onsen was really good, breakfast was excellent and the staff was really nice and friendly. The property is very easily accessible and have convenience stores and restaurants nearby. It’s a really great place to stay.

Amazing ryokan experience in a winter wonderland! Ranko-san was an amazing host who cared for our every needs. She even lent as snow boots for our winter hikes when she saw that our shoes was unsuitable for the snow. She was friendly and spoke English well. The rooms was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The onsen was big and well maintained. The breakfast and dinner was better than any restaurant we could find in hirosaki! Will definitely be back again :)

10 km from Nihonmatsu Station in Nihommatsu, mt. Inn(マウントイン） offers accommodation with access to a hot spring bath and public bath. This 2-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk and a lift. Great customer service at this hotel! The staff are very friendly. There is a car simulator on the ground floor which is very cool. The rooms are so spacious and big and very relaxing! Loved that we got traditional Japanese clothing items to try as well.

Yuze Hotel has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kazuno, 38 km from Appi Kogen Ski Resort. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space. The dinner was amazing - there was a station where the staff prepares a small dish on the spot for you. The onsen was eye-opening to say the least. It is located beside a stream / forest, and it was refreshing to soak in the onsen while listening to the stream flow by.

Set in Zao Onsen in the Yamagata region, Takasagoya Ryokan features accommodation with access to a public bath. The 3-star ryokan is 200 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort. Meals were exquisite Staff/Family all very helpful and tolerant with my dodgy Japanese（すみません!） Room very spacious and comfortable, having the kotatsu was also a bonus Bathing facilities excellent Well prepared for people who cannot understand Japanese too また来ます！

Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Okawaso offers accommodation in Aizuwakamatsu, 13 km from Aizu Higashiyama Onsen. Each room at this ryokan is air conditioned and comes with a TV. The staff were extremely friendly and very customer service oriented. The room and facilities were of extremely high quality - I felt as if I was in a 5 star hotel. The dinner was perfect. Hot springs are very pleasant.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Excellent hospitality and amazing dinner and breakfast, you cannot be disappointed

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Beautiful property. The room was spacious! Even for Western standards. The private onsen was very nice. We did not try the public onsen. The staff were courteous and helpful. Although the staff had limited English proficiency, they all used a translation app to help with communication which was incredibly helpful.
