It’s a traditional Japanese house, that the host Miho cherish very much. She genuinely loves having people over, and talk with them, even with the language barrier. She was kind and the onsen was so good, and every morning of my stay she left an egg steamed in the onsen steam overnight, by me door. Best experience I had so far in japan

Professional and warmly receptions and servers. Very spacious room with an awesome view. Onsen at my own room. Dinner and breakfast are delicious! Very quiet area. Loving the vibe of this place!

A definite top 5 for me. We got the room with a private one and it was simply so amazing to have that within seconds of your room. Also it felt like the water in the private in room onsens had much more minerals than the large one but the large one is well worth a stay too as it feels so free to be the only one there and gazing upon the mountains as you bathe.

Featuring free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 46 km from Crasus Dome Oita. Norman Rockwell Yufuin Museum is 1.1 km from the ryokan. Ryokan Fukinoya is an exceptionally wonderful place to stay. The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!

The property features garden views and is 26 km from Crasus Dome Oita and 5.4 km from Beppu Station. Oita Station is 18 km away and Kinrinko Lake is 22 km from the ryokan. Great ryokan experience with delicious well-selected food. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We only regret that we happened to be in Beppu for only one night and it was the night of fire festival. Unfortunately, we missed the whole thing, because we had a dinner at the time of fire show. It’s just an another reason to visit Beppu again :)

I had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Ikkoten with my three children, and our stay was nothing short of perfection. We were originally going to stay as a family of 5 at the KAI Yufuin but when an important business trip took my husband out of the vacation we had to quickly pivot because my ten year old son wouldn’t have been able to use the hot springs alone there. The reservable family onsen as well as our private indoor/outdoor onsen (we stayed in Kyara) allowed him to have as wonderful an experience as the girls and I. While the family onsen is great, we loved the convenience and privacy of our private one so much that we ended up using the family onsen only once. Notably, this is not a part of Japan where there’s a ton of English spoken, but the staff at Ikkoten had excellent English, which was super helpful for us as American visitors. They were super accommodating of the kids and provided samue (pajamas that are also worn to meals), geta (wooden sandals), and slippers in multiple sizes. The grounds are beautiful - a back drop of tall seeene forest (you can always here the serene sound of wind rushing through the leaves and pine needles), mountains at Mt Yufu on the other sides, and then a beautiful manicured garden. Our late March stay marked the beginnings of all kinds of blooms, and just standing outside you’d catch the perfumed scent of all kinds of beautiful flowers. The meals were absolutely incredible. The kids got wonderful multi-course meals of rice and tempura and miso soup (with a little bit of new and interesting dishes to try too). My 12 year old daughter was considered an adult by the resort, but when I requested kids meals for her, they were happy to pivot after 24 hours (the kaiseki meals were just too much for her 40kg frame!!). But those kaiseki meals were truly scrumptious. When booking the property for multiple nights, I hadn’t realized how overwhelming they could be, and I swear I gained like 10lbs just in those 3 days alone!!
