Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. Really relaxed and not super particular. At the same time, a top class Ryokan with excellent food, service, rooms and private onsens. Also tons of old videogames and manga.

Located just 2.5 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Morinouta offers accommodation in Nikko with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as luggage storage space. Breakfast was amazing. Clean hotel and very good onsen.

Located in Nikko and only 800 metres from Kegon Falls, Chuzenji Pension provides accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking. Great location with a view of the lake. Nice and welcoming owner

Located 600 metres from Kegon Falls, Hotel Hanaan offers 4-star accommodation in Nikko and features an open-air bath. Everything well thought out, wonderfully helpful staff, beautiful food, great views, comfy room, glorious onsen. If I ever return to Nikko, I won’t hesitate to re-book and stay in one of their Japanese rooms again!

Located in Kusatsu in the Gunma region, Oyado Yukizumi provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. Amazing facilities - big spacious room, very clean. The onsen is great with natural spring water, very clean and tidy, if a bit small but it’s no issue.

Boasting garden views, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with balcony, around 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. While the location was a bit out of the way (roughly 25min drive from Takasaki station), it was in a beautiful and quiet spot surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom. The room we had was the biggest out of all the places we stayed in Japan, was clean and comfortable, and had a private garden with covered deck and outdoor bath, which was absolute bliss after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. The hospitality shown to us by the staff was exceptional, and we had no problem communicating through limited Japanese/English. They served traditional meals, which were beautifully presented and a delight to eat, having small servings of lots of different things. We made use of the free bicycles and had a great time exploring the area while getting a bit of exercise.

Offering massage services and mountain view, Kusatsu Hotel Bekkan Wata no Yu (Adult Only) is situated in Kusatsu, 45 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park and 14 km from Mt. Kusatsu Shirane. I stayed for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience! perfect location right by the geo-thermal park and quick walk to two most prominent onsen facilities. Modern spacious rooms and a lovely onsen on-site. But most importantly there is Miki who runs the place – an amazing host who has made my stay very special. Thank you Miki, I look forward to coming abck to your place!

Offering river views, Minakamisansou is set in the Tanigawa Onsen district of Minakami, 36 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort and 39 km from Naeba Ski Resort. Everything is top notch, room is spacious and clean with daily room service, staff is extremely friendly, warm and hospitable. I would like to express my great gratitude to Iwasaki (岩崎） at dining and Yamada (山田泰子） at reception, they are doing their best to make customers happy with great smile 😃 Not forgetting to mention the meals which is very delicious, ingredients are fresh and with great variety. Oh dear I starts to missed the place so much 😄

Hanaingen is an adult only accommodation situated in Kusatsu, just a 2-minute walk from Yubatake, or the hot water field in Kusatsu Onsen. Everything was great, amazing staff, delicious welcome snack and breakfast, location, room, on-site hot tub. I'll be back! :)
