The hospitality of the owner is second to none ,his name eludes me but he was so nice, one of the nicest hosts I've met in Japan. As soon as I entered I got such a huge welcome and help with my bags. The private onsen and breakfast are great. The hotel is in a great location, and there was great additional services like luggage storage and lughage delivery to station.

We had an exceptional stay, and it was a highlight of our trip. Please see summary below: Location: Excellent. About a 6 minute walk from the KinosakiOnsen Station and close to the stream that runs through the town. Room: This is one of the most luxurious rooms we've stayed at and the best we would find in Kinosaki. It is as shown in the photos and has an attached private bathroom in addition to the tub. The room was spacious and clean. I am not sure if the water in the tub is spring water but we spent most of the time bathing in the private and public onsen. Check in was at 3pm. Private Onsen: There are one of two options to pick from at no extra cost, the micro bubble room and traditional room. Both are nice and clean. We decided to also pay to reserve a second private onsen for 45 minutes. In addition, there are male and female public baths at the Inn - depending on the time, you might be the only person in them. Public Onsen: Like all Ryokan in the area, you are given a pass that allows you access to all the public Onsen in the town. Yukata: We were given yukata in standard white and blue/black colours at no extra cost and also had the opportunity to pick a colourful Yukata from their selection. Meals: We are vegetarian and Tsubakino was very accomodating. We were served a set meal for dinner and breakfast - again, this was the nicest Japanese food we had during our trip. I have added a photo of the breakfast with this review, the dinner was much more elaborate and spanned multiple courses. Service: The service was excellent. We had forgotten some clothes in the closet, and the Inn promptly delivered it to our next hotel in Kyoto.

We had a great stay in Sensui! Only stayed for one night but really enjoyed it. The hotel is located in a very central location within the village, everything is accessible on foot. We arrived before check in and left our luggages there, when we returned they had taken our luggages to our room, which was a relief since our room was in the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. We had a Japanese room with a futon. The room was really big and in the traditional style. They give you yukatas for your outings in the onsens. The staff are really friendly and speak good english. We had the tajima beef menu for dinner and it was SO good! Highly recommended. As we were enjoying our dinner someone had come to the room and set the futons in place. The three onsens of the hotel are free to use and they are all really nice. The breakfast is served on the table and is traditional Japanese. We weren't the biggest fans of some items (natto, fish) but the rice, omelette and salad were nice. All in all, it might have been the most expensive hotel night compared to the hotels we stayed in other cities of Japan but it was totally worth it!

For our first time in a ryokan it was a great surprise and experience. The room was the good size for 4 people and we enjoyed the balcony with the view to the town's main street and the river. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and takes great care to explain the different activities to do in the ryokan and in the town. We had an amazing time using our yukatas and hopping from one onsen to another, and we also very happy with the meals that were prepared at the ryokan - the dinner was definitely the best we had in all our stay.

The rental yukatas and hantens were the most stylish and unique compared to what guests at other ryokans were wearing. Location is excellent, close to train station and main street and onsens. Staff gave us an onsen pass for the 7 onsens in town. We also got a private booking at the bath in house. Staff provided an orientation to town and also provided excellent hospitality, including amazing food service. Rooms were traditional and a little old but comfortable and the bathroom had a Toto.

Lovely authentic ryokan in hot spring town. The owner is very welcoming and hospitable. The ryokan is comfortable for a big family and the private onsen is great. Perfectly located in the centre of town to walk to all the public onsens with one being next door. Meals were huge and well prepared. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially for helping with yakata and kimono dressing. A must place to visit, we will definitely be coming back here to stay again.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Dinner and breakfast was served in our room and each item described to us as they were laid out. Our futons were laid out and packed away by staff. The whole ryokan was kept immaculate and we heard no noise at all. Geta, yukata, umbrellas and baskets were provided for going to and from onsens. An onsen pass was also provided from check in to 3pm on the day of check out. We were allowed to keep our towels until this point and our luggage was held after check out.

It’s a stunning traditional style Ryokan with tatami floors in the bedrooms. Having the option to have a bed or a futon is nice, although I think a futon is actually comfier! Only 2 minutes from the train station and a stones throw from great coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets. They allow you to book the private onsen for just under an hour, which allows mixed sex couples to enjoy it together, unlike the public onsens.
