Such a beautiful, homely ryokan with the most accommodating and lovely hosts. So comfortable to sleep in, I wish we stayed longer. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and so sweet of them to provide! The bath was incredible, having been filled to the brim with hot, soothing water.

This is a 150 year old property which is lovingly preserved and maintained, with its own Japanese garden and onsen. Despite being near a main road, it is serene and private, you will hardly meet other guests except in passing (even in the onsen). The room was much larger than I expected, decorated in traditional style. The service is wonderful, including an elegant lounge with free coffee and green tea. Meals are delicious and beautifully presented; dinner is in a private room, and breakfast served in your own room.

The room was very clean. Staff was really friendly especially the ladies in kimonos who explained everything in details from the use of facilities to the food that’s served to us. Onsen was soothing and relaxing. Would definitely recommend to anyone who love onsens.

Very nice ryokan, located on a small street close to Gion subway station (2 minutes walk) and Hakata Station (10 minutes walk). Nerby many shops and restaurants, Big Buddha Temple and Kishida Shrine. Canal City Mall within walking distance. Personnel very nice and helpful. Good Japanese breakfast (misoshiru, rice, fish, natto, fried egg, salad and tea) - fresh, tasty and nutricious. 6 and 8 tatami rooms spacious and comfortable, futon beds very good and comfortable.
