The staff were very helpful and friendly. The dinner was excellent and the bedding comfortable.

We picked Nagataki based on the stellar reviews and they were all correct, what a wonderful family run ryokan. The hospitality was fantastic, they were truly welcoming, kind and thoughtful and the food was excellent. Meals were seasonal with persimmon, chestnut and mushrooms among so many other delicacies - truly delicious.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The free shuttle bus took us to the start of a hike every morning and picked us up from Nakatsugawa every afternoon. Food was yummy and affordable. Baths were very nice.

Very well organised, fabulous breakfast and dinner buffets, the private onsen option was great with out young family.

Located in the historical town of Magome, Tajimaya features Japanese-style accommodations in a 110-year old building. Each room features a flat-screen TV, and guests can relax in the public bath.

Amazing property, and super cute. The food is absolutely spectacular. Tasty, well displayed and very large portions. Having the private usage of the bath was also great, especially after hiking there from Tsumago. It is honestly like living in a Japanese fairytale or myth. Our family truly loved this place, and the entire experience was the highlight of the trip. Oh, we also got a room with a private toilet, I think the only one in the property, so that was a win! If you see this place as available, book it. Staff are kind, helpful, and super nice. And there was a beautiful welcome song at dinner.
