A couple of minor downsides to mention: . we had to lift our luggage into the vehicle ourselves upon arrival—and the vehicle was a bit high, which made it slightly tricky. . no hair dryer provided. . there was no bathroom door in the two bedrooms, but still feel privacy (not a problem for us, just fyi). But honestly, this was a very minor issue in what was otherwise a flawless and deeply memorable stay.

A Truly Unforgettable Stay in Hoedspruit! We had the most incredible 4-night stay at Wild dog guest lodge, a villa inside a wildlife estate in Hoedspruit. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the host-Vicky and Henro’s genuine kindness, attention to detail, and heartfelt hospitality. Every interaction felt sincere, thoughtful, and welcoming. The villa itself is spacious, clean, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms are comfortable, the layout is well thought out, and every function of the home—from the kitchen to the outdoor areas—made our stay very convenient. The peaceful, natural surroundings made this a perfect place to relax and unwind. During our stay, we spotted various wild animals just walking pass the villa—Nyala, Duiker, Warthogs—which made the experience feel even more magical and connected to nature. The breakfasts were fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared with the animals, coming to the waterhole. On the morning we had an early game drive, the host even packed a gorgeous breakfast for us to take along. Really lovely breakfast during dame drive. We also booked all our game drive activities to Kruger and in Big 5 Game drive, through the host, and every experience exceeded our expectations and we met all big 5 and other more. From start to finish, everything was arranged perfectly, and we felt completely taken care of—even though we didn’t rent a car, everything was smooth and easy throughout our stay. This is a place we would return to in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for a serene, nature-filled, and wonderfully hosted stay in Hoedspruit, this Wilddog guest lodge is the perfect choice.

I absolutely loved my stay. The management in exceptionally accommodating and went over and above to meet my needs. The breakfast is lovely, with animals walking right past you whilst eating. I will definitely return.

This lodge is amazing. We had the self catering unit and were thrilled with the place. Beautifully decorated, full kitchen, wonderful bed and linens. Great WiFi. The unit backs onto a natural area with plains animals walking by.

Communication with hostess and booking was very good. The place is so worth the stay . If you love nature, this is the place. Quite peaceful, comfortable and a well fitted kitcenette with all you for your stay. Love that you can go for lovely walks around the estate and see some wild life close up.

Having to stop at main gate keep putting in code, guys always there to help when it didn't quite work .

Set on wild life estate with peaceful surroundings, amazing pool warm from the hot sunshine with lovely views of bush with wildlife coming to visit . Sitting out on the stoop early morning late evening listening to all sounds of bush . The drive into property has plenty of room with good size car port. Driving around to look for wild life we seen , tortoise giraffe, bush buck, impala wart hog with babies lots different birds, zebras , butterfly 🦋🦓🕷️ dung beetle.

The pool was too deep for me and not so clean. However, it didn't make our stay less enjoyable 😉

The cottage was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The hosts were amazing and very hospitable... always available to assist us. The location was private and quiet providing a feeling of tranquility. Highly recommended for those seeking peace and quiet. Overall, the efforts put in by the hosts during our stay was exceptional.

The cottage is perfectly situated with everything you may need. Peaceful and serene. If wifi is important, it's a solid consistent strong connection. Listening to the bird calls early and late afternoon just perfect. The owners are very thoughtful and kind.

Excellent lodge and really friendly people that run it. I would definitely recommend this place. We had a very nice breakfast with fresh fruits looking out on the bush and Kudu, warthogs, birds, springbok just meters away.

Honestly nothing.

The hosts were super nice and very accommodating. The safari that we booked through the Lodge was amazing - highly recommend doing that! The guide was super informative and took his time showing us the behavior of the animals. We did not just take photos like in a zoo but e.g. got to see a lion chase and watched the animals for like an hour. The breakfast exceeded our expectations since we got even more food than we ordered, it was all delicious and we got to enjoy it on the Terrasse next to wild animals. Highly recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay at Wild Dog Guest Lodge. The rooms are modern, clean and the small details like coffee, water and juice for the amount of guests is a treat. The unit has everything one can ask for. Would definitely recommend it when travelling through Hoedspruit.
