The internet didn't work in our room at first, but by the second day they had it fixed and it worked well.

Marion and Gavin are exceptional hosts—gracious, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about creating a magical experience for their guests. What truly set our stay apart was the incredibly touching surprise they had prepared for us—a beautiful, symbolically meaningful cake to celebrate our birthdays. It wasn’t just a kind gesture; it felt deeply personal and thoughtful, and it made us feel genuinely seen and celebrated. It’s rare to encounter such sincere hospitality, and it’s a memory we’ll always treasure. The lodge itself is a tranquil slice of heaven, impeccably kept and filled with charm. Every detail was considered, and the views over the water were breathtaking—perfect for unwinding and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. The room was perfect. It was cleaned every day and had all the required comfort and all the amenities. Another lovely touch that didn’t go unnoticed was how our rental car was kept in a secure place throughout our stay—and to our surprise, the gardener even cleaned it without us ever asking. That level of thoughtfulness and care truly sums up the spirit of this place. And of course, we can’t forget Fern, their wonderful dog, who quickly won our hearts. Gentle, friendly, and full of personality, Fern added an extra layer of warmth and soul to the whole experience. She’s a perfect ambassador for the love and care that Marion and Gavin pour into this beautiful haven. We left The Waterfront Lodge feeling refreshed, celebrated, and grateful. If you’re looking for a stay that goes far beyond the ordinary, where the hosts feel more like friends and every detail feels like it was made just for you—this is the place. We can’t wait to return. It was a petty issue, but the tv only had one satelite channel and the SABC channels, and it could not be used for streaming either.

A beautiful lodge situated right on the lagoon. The whole stay was really great, the hosts are so friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was truly delicious and definitely to be recommended. Just loved our stay.

They don’t make it clear on the booking that this is a guesthouse. We arrived later than the owner expected and we were treated quite rudely for it, which was very unpleasant.

Pictures of the property do no justice to the picturesque view and the location of this property. The owners were warm, welcoming and kind and the car washing service was something we had never experienced before and a truly pleasant gesture. The breakfast spread is generous and is of a five-star quality.
