Breakfast was delicious, al a carte. The hotel is a homely boutique with beautiful facilities - ideal for anyone wishing to visit Cape Town in a nice secure environment - neighbourhood is safe and easy to walk around. A ten min ride to the Waterfront, with lovely views of the city and Table Mountain. Highly recommended. Decor of the rooms is classic, clean and contemporary. Bathroom and shower was amazing - full, powerful, and warm.

The hotel is in a nice and quiet location but only short taxi ride to city centre and waterfront. Staff were great, very helpful and rooms were lovely.

Superb location, House, staff, wine-tasting which is incredibly good value and high quality, basically, it's probably one of the very best and most stylish yet simple and friendly hotels in Cape Town and further afield. Forget the big brash hotels, enjoy the serenity, calm and beauty of this grand house, with its own private garden which feels like a park! You won't get this level of luxury and service anywhere else, certainly for that price! The setting is spectacular: better even than on the website: you are surrounded by the mountains afar, the garden, the flowers, and you're 15 minutes walk from Lion's head or downtown/VOC gardens. Forget the other places, this is the place to be....and stay if you can! The staff are brilliant at every moment of the day. The Breakfast is supremely good too.

That we had to come home :(

We enjoyed our stay at One Kensington at the start of our trip so much that we returned at the end of our trip ad hoc as a perfect send off to Cape Town. The hotel is beautiful, the facilities are great, the food is lovely, but it's the staff who make this place true gold - Julia and Knox were the most wonderful hosts and made our trip really special.

Facilities are lovely, pool area in particular is brilliant. Room was comfy and clean. Staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was great and the overall stay was great. Would really recommend. Great value for money and excellent location - slightly off the beaten track, but actually nice as you're out of the business of Kloof St, but still within walking distance. Also really easy walking distance for Table Mountain too. Great all round place to stay!

The transfer to the guesthouse was quite expensive, while it was just a standard (small) car, where we were all jammed on the back seat and one of the suitcases had to be put next to the driver seat as the car was too small for 3 suitcases. The driver was wearing a sleeveless basketball shirt. Arriving at the guesthouse it was not possible to pay the driver by card. After our stay we decided to book a big Uber van to the airport and it was 1/3 of the price as compared to the small car arranged by the guesthouse.... It is not very well noise isolated from other rooms. The wooden floors and the thin walls make you hear the neighbours quite a lot. Also late arrivals or early departures were waking us up as they went through the hallway to the reception. The light in the hallway is on the whole night, and this light enters the room from underneith and the sides of the door. The pool water was very cold.

Very nice friendly welcome and polite / helpfull staff throughout the whole stay. We appreciated we could enter our room earlier than official checkin time. Beautiful house and gardens. Very good quality breakfast. We wished we could have enjoyed the breakfast even more, but unfortunately we had a very early flight. Spacious room, with good light isolation from the windows / outside. Nice gin tonic made by the staff to enjoy around the pool in the sun.

A Beautiful boutique hotel in lovely suberb only about 10 minutes to Centre and waterfront. Julia and her young team were fantastic, breakfast was exceptional and hotel was clean and fresh and the gardens are beautifully kept Will definitely return

The building is beautiful, very well located, and our room was perfect. It was big, very clean, and with great views and amenities. Breakfast was also very good. Staff nice. Overall very happy.

My only minor critique would be that the rooms aren’t entirely soundproofed. Noise carries both through the walls and between the floors. Hotel staff start kitchen preparations very early in the morning and the noise and talking does carry, at least on the ground level

Beautiful property with modern interiors, lush gardens, great pool terrace, amazing location and handy off-street parking. Really good breakfast options. Incredible views!

That my stay was only for 4 days

We were on our honeymoon and the staff made us feel like we are at home! The level of hospitality in this hotel is by far the best I have seen. The breakfast was just amazing. The location was close by to most of the places that we went too by I guess in all cape town you need a car regardless. The neighborhood was safe and quite and at night
