The check in was quick and efficient. And of course friendly. It was raining when we got to the town and the hotel sent a porter across the road to open the boom gate to the guest parking. And he had an umbrella for us which was great. The room was spacious and the hotel staff had pre-lit the fireplace in the room so it was warm and cosy when we got it. Great service all round.

The food in the restaurant was excellent. The breakfasts were great, although would have liked the option of a porridge on the cold mornings. The dinner meals were outstanding.

Loved this fabulous heritage hotel, with the most friendly staff. The location is perfect spanning across Van Der Stel and Church Street in the middle of town. The rooms are big and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious. There is secure parking for the Hotel.

Maybe not a good choice to book during a festival if you (like us) are older and don’t want to partake in the festivities until very late at night. The live music is right opposite the room in the park and it is deafening loud in the room. But it is nit the hotel issue, it is our timing 😂

Parking was not on the premises. Felt a bit unsafe, had to walk across the street to and from hotel and parking, specific during the evening

Breakfast was a la carte, not the traditional SA buffet. We travelled by motorcycle but cars have to park in the street - there is no secure parking available at the hotel.

Very friendly staff, very well maintained premises, excellent dining room - we enjoyed our evening meal and well-priced wine list. We travelled by motorcycle and we were able to park overnight in the hotel garage at no cost.

The hotel rates were a little higher than expected at this time of year but was aware of that on booking. I decided to take the family away to celebrate my 70th Birthday.

We had an overall delightful weekend at the hotel. The hotel was comfortable and warm as it was very chilly outdoors. The staff were most helpful from arrival to housekeeping to restaurant.

Car guard should not allow locals to wash car and so they can request money from you. Off street parking would be great.

For us South Africans the price of the food on the menu was very high. We had one meal there, but as my husband is vegetarian there was not much to choose. We suggest the waitrons write down the orders, as they were coming back often to check what we wanted.

Staff were wonderful, very friendly. Room was more than adequate and comfortable. The breakfasts were also very nice.

The own lost its water supply on Saturday night, so there was no way to flush toilets the next morning. Fortunately, we'd showered before the water stopped flowing.

The staff from the reception to waiting staff and manager were all delightful and helpful. And almost all of them are ladies :) Very comfortable bed, spacious rooms decorated tastefully to reflect heritage. Thanks for a good experience. We will definitely be back.
